One of the patients receiving medical care for monkey pox at the quarantine centre in Bayelsa‎ State has committed suicide.

Commissioner for Health, Prof. Ebitimitula Etebu at a ‎press conference in Yenagoa on Mondaysaid the deceased was among the 21 suspected cases of monkey pox that were being managed at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital (NDUTH).

Meanwhile, Prof. Etebu has confirmed that truly it is MonkeyPox that is in the state ‎following laboratory evidence which now puts to rest the earlier suspicion of the disease.

He, however, assured the general public again that the government was doing everything to contain the outbreak and ensure all patients received appropriate care and treatment.

    1. This is bad. It feels like he was not being monitored. If he was not depressed as they said, they should be vigilant about the drugs they are using, that they don't have psychological side effects, some drugs do.
