Nonagenarian Who Married Younger Lover In Port Harcourt Defends His Decision

In an interview with Punch, the nonagenarian who walked down the aisle with a much younger lover explained why he did it....

''I cannot continue to stay alone. I love her and she loves me. We understand each other and she is also intelligent. In marriage, there are advantages somewhere and disadvantages in other areas.

“There is no limitation in age. Some may say you are old; you may soon die. But some were dead even before they were born. Some were one year or two years old and they die. Death is not always dependent upon a man’s age,” he said

About his new wife Nunieh he,said, “You know that rose is the best of all flowers and we have two Marys in the Bible; we have Mary, the mother of Jesus and Mary Magdalene.

“She too (Rosemary) is a believer of the Bible. But why are you particular about her age? She is not an infant. She is a very charming woman.”

*WOW,Congratulations Sir.Hope your wedding night was LIT?LOL

    2. Mind you the wedding was done at hotel presidential PH. Baba is the first Ogoni lawyer, former senator, May have a lot of interests in oil because, it is in their back yard, also could have a lot of landed properties. Stop looking at the table. The lady saw something before saying 'I do".

Abeg, congrats to them and good luck to the lady. I read the man's daughter is Joy Nunieh, a renowned lawyer. It is well with this family.

  23. How horrible can you blog readers be? This is someone's father and someone's daughter. If they have decided to get married then that is between them. For your information, I hear his kids are in support. If at 92 someone's has found companionship and they are both happy, please let them be. The lady made her choice but it is people like you with your horrible comments that will now cause problems in their marriage. Better kneel down and pray to God, that you do not get to 92 years old so you will not be alone and lonely since that is how you feel people should be after a certain age.
Yes, it is surprising to hear about a man that old getting married but when you think about it and try to imagine yourself in his shoes at his age, I am sorry but I cannot help but be happy for him that he has his own companion. Even if it turns out she married him for the money, then he will die a happy man. Which is more than can be said for most of you. For the lady, she knows her reasons for marrying him, but all I can see is that she has put a spring into an old man's step. If I could find a girlfriend/wife for my widowed father I would. When you watch the loneliness of a widowed person it is heartbreaking.
I find the interest in their sex life revolting. Whether they have sex or not is none of our business. Are there not young gay guys that marry wives and they cannot have sex? Are there not impotent young men that marry wives and they cannot do anything? Provided they and their partners work things out between themselves it is nobodies business.
Please think before you post mean comments. I wish the couple a happy married life and advice you to concentrate on your own.

  25. And to add to what Anonymous 13:47 said, at that age, the man is getting married for companion sake. Do you know the loneliness this old people face when their other halves are no more? i remembered my father in law, when he was alive, asked for a wife at 80. His sons were angry, and they refused. I told my husband to consider himself in his father's shoes, lonely, in the village, without someone to have adult conversation with. Its the worst thing to happen to an old man/woman. Its not about sex. They just need someone to talk to, cook for them etc. Not house help.

    1. Can a woman in her 80's ask for a husband too... Loneliness doesn't warrant marriage at old age. Your children/extended family members are supposed to fill that void instead we live in a world where the kids are too busy or too into their own lives that they will consent to all sort of rubbish so they can get their own selfish desires.

    2. So his children doesn't have their own lives to live? They can't always give their parents the much desired companion all the time. Pray that to God not to be single in old age. Because the company your spouse gives is different from the one your children give.
