PizzaGate: Fabregas Finally Confesses To Throwing Pizza At Sir Alex Ferguson 13 Years Ago

Cesc Fabregas has finally confessed it was he who threw pizza at Sir Alex Ferguson in the tempestuous aftermath of Manchester United's 2-0 win over Arsenal in 2004 - the result that ended the Invincibles' long unbeaten run.

The Spanish midfielder had been named as the probable suspect in several anecdotes and autobiographies since that fateful October afternoon, and now the mystery appears to be solved.

Things came to a head in the tunnel after the match and, as Fabregas explained on Sky One's League of their Own, he grabbed the first thing at hand in the away dressing room. "All of a sudden, I heard noises and I thought what's happening? So I go out with my slice of pizza and I saw Sol Campbell, Rio Ferdinand, Martin Keown... everyone pushing each other. I was like I want to get in but I don't know how to and I threw... peeew... just threw it. Once I saw it was hitting, like, who it was hitting, which I didn't mean."

The former Arsenal captain confirmed the pizza struck Ferguson in the face, and added: "I apologise, Sir Alex. Really didn't mean to do that."

Suspicions were raised after the match when the Manchester United manager appeared for his post-match flash interview showered and wearing a tracksuit. The episode was later christened the 'Battle of the Buffet'.

He should be glad that it was Ferguson and not mourinho, his career would not have survived the battle that would have followed
