President Buhari Approves Ekwueme's Treatment Abroad

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate medical treatment of a former vice president, Dr Alex Ekwueme, outside the country.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.

Shehu said the approval followed a brief the President received Friday on the medical condition of the former vice-president.

According to him, the approval covers the immediate charter of an air ambulance for the emergency movement and the cost of treatment.
The presidential spokesman said Buhari prayed that God grant the elder statesman speedy recovery.

    1. This man has kids littered everywhere that he doesn't send nor claim. He should make peace with his entire family. He only acknowledges the ones whose mum is with him. I wish him quick recovery so he can do the needful

  4. This is why Ask clinic is in this state that it is, when those who ought to use it never go there, instead fly out for treatment. There is no incentive to fix the system
I pray for speedy recovery for Alex Elene, but the govt should concentrate on fixing our health systems, employ more doctors, train existing doctors.

  8. It's a shame the elites have to be flown abroad for treatment when in actual fact they should have done everything to fix the healthcare system to the status of what is obtainable in those countries they go to for medical tourism. That said, Alex Ekwueme (much respect) is an old man suffering from diseases of old age. There is no need flying him abroad.

  9. The poor can die for all you care but the rich can be airlifted to "the abroad for treatment".

You all will die miserable deaths.
    Useless animals.

  10. Buhari is a disrespectful attention seeking idiot of a dictator. Former presidents and former vice presidents are ENTITLED to medical treatment anywhere as part of the pension package courtesies. When Buhari was getting annual medical checkups abroad as former president, neither Babangida, AbdulSalam, Shonekan, Obasanjo nor Yaradua publicised their approvals for Buhari's medical treatment. Why is Buhari publicising Ekwueme's treatment as if Buhari is using his personal money to treat him? is an arrogant compound fool.

    1. Don't mind him. Always seeking for publicity as if it's not his right as an ex president.
