Sunday In House Gists - Unforgetable Journey....

Ever travelled anywhere and cannot forget the experience whether good or bad?

My most annoying travelling experience was when we were on a road trip from Munich..Journey is supposed to be at most 5 hours and we left at 10am but because of traffic,we got home by 11pm...

It was on the highway so no one could come down and the weather was so hot....I hated that Journey so much eh....I just kept saying Nigeria go-slow dey learn where this one dey......It did not even move!

Hissss

Your entry does not need to be bad cos my was...you can also tell good travelling experiences anywhere and if you stop to eat on the way....
Here the best place to stop and eat is McDonald's.....

What is yours?

Oya,lets make this Interesting!!!

  1. Best journey so far...Awka to Abuja, because I can eat enough kilishi as possible whenever I feelike like.lol

Worst journey...LAGOS 2010, I forgot my #950 change with the cab man that dropped me off. I was supposed to give him 1100, but bargained it later for 1050, gave him 2k...but forgot to collect my balance because everywhere was so chaotic. And I was rushing to beat evening rush hour traffic.. I only remembered when I wanted to pay the bike man that dropped me off at home. It's still fresh..lol

  2. I wanted to study in Unijos so bad and so my first trip out of Lagos for post UTME was by road to Jos. As usual, I was given a lot of money and so I started buying stuff to eat on the road.
I remember buying yogurt and sleeping for most of the journey that my seat partner had to ask me if I was alive because after we left Ibadan I hadn't opened my eyes.
I didn't know my nightmare was still lurking. Mind you, I was very young, excited about visiting a new place etc.
We arrived Abuja at almost 9pm and then Abuja passengers had to alight then Jos passengers boarded, this whole process took about an hour then we continued our journey.
Then the rumble in my tummy started. At this point I exclaimed "aye mi temi bami".
I started sweating because I was trying to hold it in. It was very dark now and I didn't even know where we were exactly, driver just kept saying "we go soon reach". A/C was on but at a point I told the driver to please put it off let me whine down the glass instead. Everyone started looking at me like "wetin dey do this one". Toh, na shega ukwu
I kept checking to see if we would get to a point where I'd get water or tissue paper to buy but no sign, just God's nature in form of long grassy fields as we kept going.
I didn't know when I screamed "driver please stop I need to pee". Although, it wasn't pee but how do I explain that I want to poo instead.
At this point I didn't care about water or tissue, I just ran across the road and did my business despite the silly jokes from the male passengers who felt I was taking too long.I finished my business and felt relieved immediately but how do I clean up now with no water or tissue? Infact let me stop here...

    5. I held poo from Lagos to Ado Ekiti and the funniest part was thr car was moving like a snail. We left Lagos around 4pm and people were already complaining that the driver took too long to get passengers and na so so old women that went to Balogun to buy goods full the car.
I could say pim because they were already scared and complaining.
I died, resurrected, slept, woke up, was feeling sweaty one minute, the next one extremely cold. At a point I started counting 1 to 1000 but it didn't work. I was just too shy of telling the driver that I wanna poo, I was scared if I lied that I wanna pee I might take too long and they will discover that I lied. Infact I didn't have water too so I told God, just have your way, forgive me and take away this feeling. I promised God so many things just for him to take off this burden for just 2 hours till i get home.
My brothers and sisters, you won't believe that after i got doen, took bike home, didn't even greet anybody and rushed inside the toilet, only small kinkinni, poo came out.
I made sure I sat on the toilet for 30 more mins just to punish my tommy and buttock. I was so annoyed. Upon how I suffered. They had to go bang the door before I came or and narrated my ordeal to my flatmates. They all laughed.

    8. Please all of you asking me to complete my story should leave me unless you are ready to pay for the embarrassment I suffered LMAO.
I have lots of these stories, like the one time we had to contribute waist belts because our bus fan belt spoilt and bus stopped where civilisation was out of reach. Maybe I should share the time I traveled from Abuja to Lagos with 250k in cash that belonged to my mother because I wanted to use my flight money to buy cloths ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
I'm ashamed of myself now that I remember those times, Stella please bring this post again.
Oh and also the time my dad's car spoilt along Ibadan expressway on my trip from Kaduna because car overheated, I had to sleep in the car while the driver went to some joint around to drink to stupor. I was also on my period, I had to hold my pee till morning when my brother came to pick me.

On my way back, left Lag as early as six but was held in traffic gridlock around Ore....close to 5 hours...we stopped over to eat at one canteen like that at Delta....we eventually got back to Benue around 2am. I no fit forget that day....God has been so faithful to me.

    1. Ore Gridlock is one of the tiring thing for me, whenever traveling to Lagos by commercial bus. It's easier with private car, because we leave as early as 3am and then no much traffic when we get to Ore.

  6. mine was when I was young. .. I won't say we were travelling but we were just going to visit our grandma who lives on the island and we stay on the island.
so we got there...had fun and took pictures with grandma .
then we entered our car back and zoomed off
only for the car to stop at the middle of third mainland bridge.
left and right was water and cars were zooming off.
the car refused to Start and my dad didn't know what happened to it.
    this was around 10pm
we were so scared to our bone.. no car stopped..
    cars were just zooming..
we were there till past 12 when a good Samaritan stopped and asked what happened
we were even scared to talk yo him thinking he was a thief
we sha answered him and he told my dad to open the bonnet and he did some stuffs, he used His teeth to cut wires and matched them together
then he told my dad to start the car.. lo and behold the car started he then told my dad to reduce the speed ..we thanked him so much collected His number and left..trust me the remaining ride back home on that bridge was dreadful

  7. chai.... I remember travelling from enugu to Lagos some years back. my love for okpa made me buy two vegetable okpa at the garage. I ate one before the journey started and the second in the course of the journey. come and see spiritual perspiration about 30minutes later. My saving grace that day was that i sat next to the driver (front seat) because i cant imagine shouting all the way from the back seat for him to stop so I can poop. I pooped about 4 to 5 times before we got to Lagos. My first poop was when I stopped to buy fuel at a petrol station, I didn't tell anybody I just disappeared to the toilet for a quick one, upon all the sweat it was small tintili poop that came out... when I got back to the bus they were already contemplating leaving me behind, I sha apologised shamefully and confided in the driver that the okpa I ate has scattered my tummy. Such a nice driver, he told me to quietly signal him whenever I need to poop and that was how it went till I got to Lagos. You need to see the innocent look on my face each time I had to make the driver stop with plenty apologies to other passengers, infact at a point it was the passengers that was helping me look for a coded place where the driver can park for me to do the do. I remember the guy seated next to me offered me his big bottle water at some point when I was stepping down to go poop and this had me wondering if he had been perceiving poop on me..... wetin concern me so far I had been cleaning up well each time I drop.

Getting to lasgidi, I met another bad traffic before getting home, I almost cried. I got home and was just twisting how I walked and begged my siblings who had missed me for a long time and came running towards me for a hug to stop before I do the unexpected. I hated that trip with all my heart.

  12. Fuck! I'm gonna talk abeg.

My unforgettable journey has to be my trip to Vienna, Austria. I think that place has got to be one of the most beautiful places in the world, I'm talking about the schonbrom palace (correct my spelling pls, if you know it).

From the bus ride (yea, we went by bus, from Czech to Austria). The six hour bus ride felt like an hour. Smooth road and all. Each seat had a small TV placed in front for u to watch any movie of your choice. So there was no way I could have felt the long journey.

Then from the schonbrom palace to the zoo (just behind the palace). Please if u have visited any zoo in Nigeria, I beg u in the name of God, stop telling people you've been to a zoo. Just say u went to a place with a collection of a few different kinds of animals.

That zoo has to be one of the biggest zoos in the world. It was like going into a forest. Different habitats were created for each animal just like their forest habitat. I even saw he-goats in the zoo. Lol. I don't think there's any non extinct animal that you wouldn't find in that zoo.

Then from the zoo to the most amazing amusement park I've ever been to. Took the scariest ride of my life there (the roller coaster, pls don't try it). Spooky rides are actually called that for a reason. Really scary for me. I don't think there was any ride I took there that didn't scare the be-Jesus out of me. There was one that went so high, I started confessing my sins.

That was one country I was sad to leave and yea, I'm not forgetting that experience ever.

Lady bug, pls, I'm not feeling fine

  14. Worst journey- took a night bus(marcopolo) from Bauchi to Ibadan in 2012. I had not eaten all day cos I wasn't even supposed to travel, the journey was a last minute arrangement. Dads sister packed rice for me so I waited till we got to Jos before I ate. It had o my become a little dark when my tummy started. Jesus! How do I call drivers attention In a luxurious bus, I sha managed for sometime.sleep I couldn't sleep,I was just pleading the blood of Jesus. Dont know where the bus stopped as it was late,I quickly jumped down ran to d road n dis my stuff. I immediately we continued stomach started again, ha! I wanted to die that day. The bus spoilt so I quickly looked for a place to ease myself, na so shit no grew comot. I did every, nothing came out. Immediately we entered, stomach started again then I started vomiting. Thank God I had a thick poly bag with me. After vomiting I was relieved then I slept. Coming back to Abuja from Ibadan, that's how I started purging that morning. In fact story plenty, but that has to be my worst journey ever. The thing that made me travel sef,I did not get. Mschewwww. I'm even pitying myself remembering all this

  15. I remember when I worked as a marketer for one FMCG company. We had our official cars with which we travelled to different states for either marketing, seminars/conferences or trade fair. Sometimes we also travelled to supply our products. The trucks carrying our goods would be in front while our car would be following behind. Me and my colleague would just be sleeping.

We Combed the coal city during one Enugu international trade fair like that, chai! Enugu girls are the fairest of them all. Beautiful clean girls o..
Rivers State, PH girls aren the 'tushest' of them all, classy and tush girls everywhere wit fine chocolotey skin.. Almost all of them fixed human hair Ikwakwakwakwakwa

Imo state, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Osun, Ondo, Kwara, Oyo, Delta, Edo, oh Edo! I love the art work in most places in Benin city. I remember upper sapomba, Ring road and that market Obama market.. they were always fighting in that market. Airport Road, Maritala Muhammed Road, that market opposite Nigerian Prison service or so, etc and we lodged in one hotel owned by the igbinedions...
Anambra was very dirty, don't know about now.. Entering the state, it was a dump site that met us, imagine! along the express road o.. chai!
Delta was very very dry. How do business owners make sales in that state? A whole Asaba was as dry as Sahara desert.
Been to all states in south and west. It's only the northern states that I was not opportuned to travel to.

My best travelling experience was when we travelled to Port Harcourt for a trade fair. This was years back. I love that city. So many beautiful things to buy, I understand it's because it is close to Aba. Went shopping for food items at Mile 12 or Mile 2 can't remember now, that market surrounded by slum. I bought plenty crayfish and smoked fish there.
Then Rumuola beside that bridge on Aba Road.
I bought beautiful jewelleries from some guys selling stuff there, very unique, I did not see them in Lagos, people used to ask where I got them from. We lodged in one big hotel along NTA road. We visited the army barrack, AIT, NTA, Chioba, Uniport, etc.
I remember how I wondered why most of the areas were named Rumuo something something. Rumuola, Rumuokoro, Rumuokosi, Rumuofofo, Rumuolosho, Ikwakwakwakwakwakwa . We combed the city and the surroundings. Elekiaha, Garrison, up to that road that leads to Akwa Ibom. it's been long, can't remember them now.
What I enjoyed most was the roasted yam and plantain and roasted fish with delicious stew. I loved how they added roasted fish to their own stew unlike Lagos own. That fish was everything, we used to buy it and take to our hotel room to eat. Another food I enjoyed in Port Hacourt was native soup. OMG! Native soup takes the lead. I counted up to 5 or 6 different types of smoked fish in that woman's soup. The woman was on that road off Rumuola Road close to Rumuola bridge.
My travel experience fit write book. Ekiti state nko, where they warned my male colleagues not to sleep with any indigene they see I they love their lives as she may be walking around with 'Magun' (Thunderbolt). IkwakwakwakwakwaKwakwakwakwakwa.

It was filled with prostitutes (I have a problem with them). That was my first time seeing real life prostitutes on the road and In bars.

They were everywhere. We even witnesses police trying to catch some of them one night like that

Another reason I don't like ph is because of the night life. A lot of them waste cool cash on bars and clubs and I've never really been a fan of wasting money (maybe na because I no get enough to waste sha). 17. My journey to the destination I don't know through a cargo ship at Apapa seaport. In the year 2005 I run away from school because of a situation way bigger than me and I couldn't tell my mum what happened, so I shamefully returned to Lagos but didn't go home. I went to stay with a friend who introduced me to another friend and I was introduced to "STOAWAY", I developed interest and the guy charged me 15k to put me in a ship going to USA, I was so excited without considering the danger, I wanted to surprise my sweet mum that I could make it. The day we were to embark on the journey, we boarded a speed boat from tolu in Ajegunle that would convey us to where the ship was anchored, we had a disagreement, I was the smallest among everyone, but my heart was that of a rock, one of the guys said I was too small to embark on such journey and he asked the organiser to send me back home, na so gbege start on top water, then they confirmed me to be small but mighty and we settled and sailed on.. but unfortunately we couldn't made it to the ship, the speed boat was noisy and the noise attracted owners of the ship, they flashed a search light on our speed boat, we had no choice than to return, on our way back we saw marine police on patrol and they stopped us, they know our mission and they cheered us up, asked us to submit all the naira we had on us since we are going to a foreign country, we did and they left us. We went back to plan another trip.. to cut the long story short, I ended in Addis Ababa, one among us died, we stayed with the body for 2days, got caught, landed in prison.. story too long... make una pardon my English

He now collected my phone and went through my messages. We were saved because he saw a message from my friend that told me to enter US and never leave and I said God forbid bad thing, that when my one month holiday is over, I am coming back to my country...that was what saved us that day. Imagine if my message Said otherwise.
If you travelling to US for the 1st time, biko delete any incriminating messages

    1. I remember our first trip as a family to the UK. We the kids had already gone indivially from school during summer holidays.
We told popay to pack cadigans, socks e.t.c he refused o, he was like in all his 50 years, he hadn't seen cold that will catch him to make him wear cadigan. We said okay now and left him but his wife pitied him and put it in her own luggage.
We got to Heathrow, cleared customs and went out all fully kitted. The next thing we heard from behind was Jesus Christ of Nazareth...we were like daddy what happened now and he said "otutu wonle Lati ori ni o" "the cold is entering from his head....the way we laughed at him ehn, mumsy now gave him his cadigan...family vacations are the best.

  21. In 2015, I traveled to Ibadan for the EPT. I wanted to return to Abuja after the test but the cab I took made me miss the last bus. I wish I had traveled that morning. The next day, I boarded a PMT bus at samonda to Abuja. Most of us in the bus were from the EPT. At owena in osun state barely an hour from Ibadan, a motorcyclist with his passenger, rushed out from a filling station just at the time our driver was overtaking a long trailer. Our driver did all he could to avoid them but ended up hitting them, we almost went over the bridge as a result. A mob gathered ready to burn the vehicle the driver escaped leaving us stranded. It took the help of the FRSC to take the men to the hospital. What saved us from the mob was that, the motorcyclist had snatched a pouch of money belonging to the fuel attendant.
PMT didn't send a vehicle to us until 2pm. We continued the journey but when we got to ondo state there was a traffic gridlock. The gridlock was worse at Lampese, we followed bush paths and got a flat tyre. The gridlock was caused by fuel tanker drivers lifting products from Lagos to the entire north. We finally arrived Abuja at 2am. I was hungry, tired and my battery was low. Luckily I had been able to call a cab to take me home at that ungodly hour and I live in orozo.
Thank God I got admission, it'd have made it much painful. I thank God I didn't die either.

  22. Mine was in 2015 on my way to SA my flight was 1am and I didn't even know until my sis in law just asked around 4:30 if I was @ the airport @ that point I started arranging my bag to embark on my journey. I got to the airport @ 10:30pm I checked in and got to the immigration and I was asked why i was going to SA and i told them i was going to visit my fiance and my visa was a tourist visa. I didn't have a dime on me cos atm no gree dispense cash. Na so immigration ask me hw much i had on me so i said i have my atm that when i get to SA i will withdraw na hm dem seize my passport oo till the flight take off. I was with the immigration till morning na hm i narrate my story give immigration oo say na my fiance i wan go meet and we were getting married in SA I show them wedding gown sef. So one immigration officer said he will help me that i shud reschedule my flight and withdraw cash and change to dollars. I was given my passport in the morning and i withdrew money and changed to dollars and rescheduled my flight which was 1am the next day. Hmm so i was @ the airport from morning till the next flight ooo i went to the toilet changed my clothes brush my teeth and spray perfume. Na so I sit down, sleep and ate and do orisirisi. Na so 8pm nack oo dis was on a good friday, i checked in and was @ the waiting lounge when i saw the immigration officer that helped me, he said he was looking for me that my mum called hm cos my phone was switched off. So he said I shoud come to his office to charge my phone as I got to his office to charge na so my brain jamm together oo I started seeing things and speaking different things wey no concern me.I saw that someone came to take me away from the immigration office to the waiting lounge where i started saying things about Goodluck Jonathan, Buhari and stuff @ that point my fiance called me and started saying rubbish to him, my mum called, the same thing na so my mum shout say chai! So she called my aunt to come and carry me @ the airport. My aunt and her husband got to the airport @ that time I was already outside displaying madness oo Hmmm na so them bundle me inside the car and I later slept off as it was some mins to 1am I woke up and asked where I was and where they were taking me to and I said Ahh I have missed my flight again. So my aunt just started cursing that hmm they don't want you to make that trip holyghost fire lol. So I was taken to my uncle inlaws hospital and I was treated. I made my trip to SA after two weeks sha. Bt I can never forget that day in my life. What happend that day made my ex fiance change his mind about the engagement. I thank God I didn't dash into the streets that day cos it would be a different story.

If they don't have money to travel right, why can't they sit their assessment down in Nigeria or go to Ghana or Cotonou? Most of them entered the journey with their clear eyes. You see them being rescued on the high sea with new borns and pregnancies, products of rape and prostitution. Tufiakwa

  25. Stella this topic open old book.
My worst travel experience was when I travelled with my mum by train to go and do omugwo in Osun state from Ibadan. I was very small, like 5yrs. It was my first time of being to a railway station. We took off after several hours of waiting. While on motion, in the middle of the bush, that was how I became pressed, I started crying, my mum now told one man who took us to their supposed toilet. As he opened the lid and asked me to bend down and poo poo. I saw grasses and those railway stones moving very fast. I was looking at the bare ground and I was scared. In my panic, my leg slipped and entered the hole, if not that my mum quickly pulled me away, I would have lost a leg, I ended up with a dislocated ankle. Since then, I never entered a train again till this day.
