    1. This post is for those who laugh at single women and judge them. It is for those who mock single women and put their husbands and children in their faces. You don't know what tomorrow holds, rather than bragging about your husband and kids, pray for them. You that is single today rejoice, pray and keep a positive attitude, those who mocked will be surprised at your blessings, those who laughed at you will be disgraced because of your blessings from God almighty. God will surely prepare your table in the presence of your mockers for sure!!!

  3. Imagine my mother saying she has lost weight through thinking too much because I am not married. Everyday we talk she is crying on the phone. That she got married at 20. She doesn't know who is punishing her that both her children at 33 and 35 are not married. Even my father is tired of the crying.
Mind you I have a very good job, based abroad and living well with plenty of money in the bank. Still I am not having sleepless nights over marriage but my mother is. Am I not the one that is single ?
I am dating and hope it turns to marriage. But I will not kill myself. I will live my life.

    1. You better marry quick before u become old and alone. You will not find it funny. Don't let these frustrated old hags to deceive you. Loneliness kills quicker than AIDS.

    3. The ultimate thing is to be happy and fulfilled. Be it in marriage, having kids or being single. I speak for myself, i can't be miserable in marriage or be single and miserable cos of marriage, when marriage certificate is not required to make heaven.

    1. It is good for a woman to have a spouse and birth children
However, she shouldn't be pressurized to avoid marrying a wrong spouse.

Marriage comes with fulfilment and respect.#fact
      *argue with your forefathers*

However again, marriage is not for everybody.
Let those that prefer to be 'sincerely' single be single.
Do not force them on the marriage path.

For the men, they really do not have the biological clock ticking hence they may not be under pressure except pressure of raising a family on time to make them "a dad to their kids" rather than being "a grandpa to their own kids"

*if this comment pulls through, praise the Lord. Otherwise, na wa.*

  6. Nice write up. I once told my mum that I only want kids not marriage. She started conducting prayer and fasting on my head. It's obvious God is not answering her prayer because I am still single. All I need now is a good job.

  8. I'm single and life is good, I eat what I like, sleep and wake up when I like, travel when I want. In other words, I live my life for myself. Some marriages are like a jail term to me. When I'm ready I will have a child, I don't mind being a single mother.

    3. Marriage is good but being single is truly not a disease. I say to single ladies enjoy yourself while it lasts cos when you get married it's a different ball game. I was discussing with my sister who is also married about how we used to buy takeout instead of cooking and just spend our money on ourselves. How we will hangout with friends and travel whenever we feel like. Marriage changes that. I have kids now when my husband and I get our salary it's about them:clothes, toiletries, snack for school, their food etc. By the time we finish money to buy even makeup no go dey. When I was single I was using MAC studio fix but since I started having kids, Na zaron o. I have missed events and special occasions because I can't leave my children to attend since they are pretty young. The point I am trying to make is there are also positive things in being single. Take time to grow in your career, learn a skill, develop yourself etc.

  9. Hmmm. Dayo Dayo. Being Single is not a disease quite alright but you didn't know this 10 years ago? You messed up big time lady, you did. It's not too late, have a change of heart and change your circle of friends. Maybe, just maybe.

80% of the ladies in Ikeja who bluffed marriage with the toga "being a babe is quite a bother but I like it rather" are lonely and beginning to sing another tune. They are in prayer groups and fellowships now hoping for a LIGHT and complying to all sorts.

Hope it's not late to convince you. Marriage is honourable beautiful Dayo. Marry already.

  10. Stella Amenn, the pressure can drive one crazy and people keep getting surprise cos I have the best character ever, but I just keep meeting the wrong people, but I know it will happen like magic, I will smile soon, and not just for pressure I just want my family, before I was so happy being single till I met this guy but he so scared to settle down, the day I will say I do I pray it should be with who I love, not who I just want to marry n go, when I love I can so tolerate you ehhhhhh but if I don't hmmmm. Aj just do the right thing cos you won't regret it, I will make you enjoy marriage n not regret taking that part I'm that simple a person

  11. The worst thing that can happen to any single lady is desperation, it prevents you from seeing the obvious signs that are staring at u, never be desperate, Gods time remains the best.Keep moving don't make him feel he is the best thing after fried rice when he recognises your worth Aj will do the right thing, I pray he answers soon to all the singles both male and female.
