Lionel Messi Reportedly Blasts Super Eagles Ahead Of World Cup

Lionel Messi has disclosed major problem of the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of their group game in the 2018 World in Russia. The Argentina captain described the senior national team of Nigeria as inconsistent in terms of how they approach games.

The Barcelona superstar scored twice, the last time Nigeria faced Argentina at the World Cup, which was at the 2014 edition in Brazil.

Grouped alongside Nigeria, Croatia and Iceland, Messi was asked by FIFA online to analyse the strength and weakness of the team in the same group as his country Argentina.

Speaking on the Super Eagles, Messi said, “One day they score four goals, the next one, they leave plenty of space for you to do anything.”

Speaking further, he said, “It might seem easy, but Iceland are tough and well organised while “Croatia, they give you more room to play but they have great players.”

The Super Eagles and Argentina will meet on June 26 in the final round of group games at the Russia World Cup 2018.

  8. Except you don't know what blasting means, that's not blasting. More like constructive criticism.

  10. I don't see it as a'blast'..Whether we agree or not,it's obvious that we are always inconsistent, and that's a fact!..All we need is to accept the contrustive critism and adjust in the way we approach games...And i believe this current crop of players are hungry to deliver.

  11. Criticism is good: it brings out the best in you. I remember the controversy with the Ivorian team before our 2013 AFCON and how it led to many insulted Super Eagles players put in their best in the match. Let's hope the Eagles will live up to expectation.
