A Chronicle Of Polygamous Brouhaha

This is the story of a man who divorced his first wife but ended up living with three women.

Oluwafemi was a graduate of accounting from university of Ife. He settled down with Bunmi which gave birth to four children- two boys and two girls. Their marriage was full of trials, lack of funds which resulted in both of them always fighting. There was never enough funds to take care of the daily needs of the children. When she could no longer endure the suffering and hardship, she moved out of the house with her kids.

Femi, on his part tried to reconcile with his wife in order to get his wife and beloved kids back but it all proved abortive. Bunmi told him she cannot manage with a poor man who could not afford basic things of life for his family.

Femi, was broken and he was determined to make money by any means. 

Georgina, who is from the eastern part of Nigeria, came into his life by a luck of chance. They both met at a mountain and one of the seer told them that their destinies match each other. That as long as they are together they will be rich.

Femi informed Georgina of his first wife who left him with their kids but only mentioned they had only two boys and that he had done the divorce proceedings with Bunmi. Which was all a lie but only separation. She really did not do much investigation to know the truth because she felt age was not on her side anymore and she could afford to be step mother to the boys.

Georgina had a great job where she was earning good salary. So, she was able to help Femi financially. With time, he went for his master’s degree and enrolled for other professional courses. She encouraged him to establish an accounting firm. The firm began to flourish and clients were coming in. When Bunmi realized that the man she abandoned was doing well gradually and had remarried another wife, she packed her load and came back to her matrimonial home.

The new event surprised Georgina who got the shocked of her life that she had four step children and not two as earlier mentioned by the husband and that the divorce was not thru but just separation.

There was nothing she could do than to accept what life offered her. Femi, later got another apartment for Bunmi in the same estate. All efforts to conceive including IVF failed because Bunmi constantly tells her that a snake does not back a child so she can never have any child in that marriage. She was able to train her nephew that lived with her and made sure he had the best education both here and abroad. She later adopted a daughter that looked so much like her.

As business progressed, Femi acquired more cars, properties and good things of life. He sent his two sons abroad to study. He got entangled with another Muslim woman Basirat who delivered two boys and a girl for him.

Life was rosy and flourishing, vacations abroad with shopping spree. He could nothave  asked for a better life. 

One day, Femi, got to his accounting firm and was attending to some clients when he fainted and was rushed to hospital. After two days, he gave up the ghost.

When the burial was over and the will was read, they found out that most of the properties was willed to Georgina- he stated that he did that because she was with him when he was struggling and assisted him financially not minding she did not have a child for him.

The rest of the family refused to accept the will but termed it “fake will”. They told Georgina that she does not have any right to the properties considering the fact she’s not the first wife and no biological child from her to their father. Forgetting that their father accepted the adopted daughter. She refused to allow the family elders to vade in and change the will. Although she was in possession of most of the documents.

She had escaped attempts on her life by assassins, open confrontations and fights in her office and sometimes she met red and black substances in her home and at her office. Even her daughter’s life was threatened by the step brothers.

Do proper investigations before accepting marriage proposal from any man or woman. It will save you a whole lots of headache.
