Britain Appoints Minister For Loneliness To Tackle Social Isolation

Britain has created a “minister for loneliness” post to tackle modern public health problems associated with social isolation.

The government said Wednesday it appointed Tracey Crouch after research showed as many as one in ten people felt lonely “always or often” and that hundreds of thousands of elderly people hadn’t spoken to a friend or relative in the past month.

Crouch, whose official title is Minister for Sport and Civil Society, will devise a national strategy to tackle isolation across all ages, and find ways of measuring alienation in official statistics.

We know that there is a real impact of social isolation and loneliness on people, on their physical and mental well-being but also on other aspects in society and we want to tackle this challenge,” Crouch said.

    2. Britons need it. IMO people will be happy with their salary paid no need for Commissioner abeg. It is not negativity but actual social needs.

    4. It’s abt prority okk, we have more pressing needs hello! Basic needs like salaries been paid as at when due ,jobs ,good healthcare , infrastructure etc the list goes on and on . Britons have all that do I don’t have any issue with minister for lonliness. rochas instituted that office to loot money through his sister since IMO state is now a family business.

  10. It's dreadful how ppl are tossed aside when they are no longer of use to others. I see it in my own family with my grandmother. The elderly are treated dreadfully. I pray that I grow old in full mental and physical health and strength. I am glad I already love my own company and know how to take joy in solitude.

  13. In Uk, a lot of people are lonely and going through depression. Many have zero social life. They keep to themseves, Cut off from families . All they do is come back from hustling and remain indoors while taxes take a greater part of their money. Which makes them stingy.

Hardly will u see someone in London offer you something or offer his/her house free for visitors. Always complaining of one thing or the other. Many jobless.. Nigerians in london,,,tufiakwa,,,,empty vessels. See them full liverpool market on sunday,,, hian!
This Minister for loneliness is apt. Lonely souls full yonder, joor. The whites are primary victims. They mostly live alone.

Meennn,,,,I love my naija irrespective of everything. We are happy people
