  2. God please forbid this for me. To me it us degrading, not morally right and very embarrassing. What is not good is not good. It is not a woman's thing to propose to a man so therefore it is not acceptable. A sane man won't even accept such proposal.

    1. 'A Ugandan lady proposes to her much older boyfriend' . My first thought when I read that was, "This is an anomaly."

Men are abandoning their position as the wooers and women are taking over. While some men just want to play, their women want something more lasting than the girlfriend title. They get tired of waiting for oga to propose, so they ask the "will you marry me" question themselves.

Sincerely I wonder what that relationship from onwards will be like. Will the woman be in charge of the wedding plans? Will she be the one to pay the man's dowry? Will the man take the woman's love for granted? Cos I believe for a woman to come to the point of proposing to her man, it's two things : she must really be in love with him or she is desperate. And if a man is not man enough to propose to the woman, it's either he is not ready or he doesn't really love the woman so much as to make her his wife. What you love, you want to keep permanently, right? Is the woman not boxing him into a corner by proposing to him in public and to save her face, says yes so as not to embarrass her? Thoughts thoughts thoughts on the sensibility of all this.

The way God created the order of things, men are the ones who woo, who pursue, who propose. They go out, choose the woman they want to start a family with. It's not the other way round. But the society today have changed that, it doesn't matter anymore. Women proposing to men? I really believe it's an anomaly. The same way a woman is the head of a home and not the man. It's not normal.

But why? Why won't a man propose to a woman he has been with for months, for years? Why? If you really want to keep that woman in your life, what's holding you down from proposing?

A man who wants you will keep you. He doesn't need years to make up his mind. He already knows what he wants when he sees it. If he had not popped the question, he probably is assessing other possible options. Place a value on yourself dear girl and let the man be the man.

  9. The Bible made it clear "he that findeth a wife " not she that findeth a husband. The word of God should be the standard for our daily living. You as woman can pray for God to reveal you to your partner so that he will come and propose to you not you taking the bull by the horn and end up receiving the disgrace of your life or later in life you keep greeting constant remainder that you corned him into marrying you..

  11. Yes Stella that is what the typical man will say. They already say she forced abi tricked me into marriage when they are even the ones that propose. Talk more this.
There are other sutle ways you can tell a man. Like so and so, we have been dating for 2yrs now. What is your plan ? Where is this relationship heading to etc. If he loves you,he should know what that means.
    Not outrightly proposing.

    1. You that is 'giving hint' how are you different? Move on if a man has not made his intentions known stop fooling yourself. He might be following you to those weddings to get ideas of how he will do it with the lady he will eventually marry not you so thanks for helping another woman out.

Nne I would rather wait forever ooo, than humiliate myself in such a manner, imagine he proposed ooo(I wasn't even pregy when he did)yet any small misunderstanding, he starts insinuating how he did u a favour by marrying u,(like say am handicapped),as though u pushed him into marriage, come be say nah me propose, nah to kukuma pack run, cos the verbal abuse will be unimaginable, abeg ladies give urselves some respect and stop proposing to guys, relationship is not marriage, he will taunt u with it for the rest of ur life if you dare propose to him, marriage is not a ticket to heaven, concentrate on building ur career and ur happiness, and believe me, men will flock around u like bees on honey, Don't let any slay mama decieve u ooo(I have many of them as friends, they get more than 500likes, on one posted sexy picture, with bible quotations on how God is good to them, yet, they will call me and be crying honey, see ooo! I don die oo! Why has God forsaken me?I will spend 2hrs giving advice, yet in the next 3hrs she has uploaded another thing hubby got for her)All nah promo, she bought it herself ooo , they are suffering and smiling except for few who has accepted their fate,me included ooo, So please don't be in a haste to get married, just watch events unfold on its own. I don tell una oo

  24. I get so pissed whenever I see this female proposing thing.God forbid that I propose to a man, what happened to the ancient boundaries? To what end exactly, does proposing to a man make him the woman of the home? will he do the dishes, cook etc., will he get pregnant?

The lady on the other hand, will she pay the groom price and bear the financial burden of the wedding and the entire home after the man puts to birth?

  25. Me cant even ask for a mans number or ask him out talkless this.
Even when me and a guy exchange numbers I wont even call you, you must call me the first few times. Then if I like you I can start calling.
All this shoot your shots girls I cant do abeg.
That is how I met one fool that thinks he's God gifts to women cos he is fine. Expected me to do all in the situationship, calling everything. He said afterall a lot of girls are on his case. Where I took off is when he started requesting for money. Tueh

  28. Even if I was still in that phase of life, I wouldn't. If I notice we've been in the relationship long enough and there's no future in sight, I will loosen my seatbelt. Give others a chance. Make my choice and move on. I can't certainly wait forever for him to propose or worst still, do it myself. Mba!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I will never ask him, plus I will never wait forever to be asked either. Even men who ask self still humiliate their wife's much more. Its a sign of things working in the anticlockwise direction. It means for me I am taking up the male role from the Bible by asking him and it will surely spell doom as I don become the man for him eyes na. I like to be the woman o abi na me go dey stay on top all the time. I feel asking for some men will mean I am noe the man of the house responsibility wise. If he no ask never will I and I must live him self no need to stay till 19 gorodom. I show u the signs through all my actions I want marriage u don't get it or talk about it I am off.

  33. I won't do it but i also won't judge any one that chooses to. Whatever 'rocks' your boat. I'm in a job where i meet and talk with lots of people. You will be surprised that some men actually love to be asked out, proposed to by women. We are in a fast changing world. Men are sleeping with dolls over human beings, women are sleeping with cucumbers, we have lesbians, transvestites, homosexuals, a lot of ish hitherto judged to be abnormal. Whatever works for one-go ahead. It's a short life, it's one life to live.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I will not even try it, I better wait for ever.
