Abducted Oil Workers Regain Freedom After Days In Captivity For N50m Ransom

The Five staff of Sahara Energy Oil who were kidnapped at Ajoki community near Koko, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, have regained their freedom after spending 19 Days in captivity.





The workers, Kali Agbai, Henry Oha, Henry Eruorhboro, Olajide R.A and Akihumi, were kidnapped on January 17 by a gang of gunmen suspected to be militants operating in the area.


Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Andrew Aniamaka, when contacted, confirming the release said: “I do not have details of the matter but they have been released. I will get back to you if I get more details.


However, a source at the company’s public relations department, disclosed that the company was forced to pay N50 million for the release of the victims. The source who spoke on condition of anonymity, said: “The company was compelled to negotiate with the kidnappers who had earlier demanded N200 million for the five workers. But an agreement was reached for N50 million to facilitate their release.

    The failure of Buhari has made people to think that, youth can do it better, don't get me wrong but let's just have a rethink.

    Anyone who is corrupt is corrupt, no two ways about it, am pretty sure we have youths among those gunmen(if not all). Everybody is willing to get rich by force not minding the end result.i 😢 so hard for this generation
