Lagos Lekki-Ikoyi Toll Gate Fare Increment Brouhaha

Yesterday the Lekki-VI road locked down due to the excessive traffic gridlock caused by the new Lekki-Ikoyi toll gate fare that started Feb 1st.....

So did the serious traffic situation indicate that people refused to pay the new fare?

What is the Governor of Lagos state doing about this?

Who was caught up in the gridlock last night?
Any traffic situation this Morning?

Can somebody please Educate me on why the govt has to put a toll gate from one location to another inside same state? What kind of revenue collection is that?It does not make sense to me at all and just another way of enriching the high and untouchables....

  1. So painful. IF i want to go to Lekki now, i will pay N500 instead of the normal N300.

It is just a pity that more pains are being added to the citizens.

They should enjoy the hold up small as we have been enjoying our own in Costains.

    Na wa

  2. Given that a+yd=nil

From the above, a is autonomous, you like it or not, u must pay Toll Gate fare cuz u can't sleep out there.

Yd is disposable income after paying tax then what do you have left to feed on when the useless govt we have tend to make us suffer all cuz they want to get rich.

I now see reason why Nigeria has been tagged as the most risky country to live in.

What a shame to Ambidextrous and the entire Lagos state parastatals.am not deceived anyway

This same Ambode was to face EFCC under the Fashola led regime, thanks to Tinubu who helped him out, the same man was given to us as a governor..

    What do I know sef

  3. Stella people who don't want to pay toll use the alternative route. To use the alternative, you either turn at 2nd roundabout or first roundabout and access through either pinnacle oil or oniru market. Now, the traffic in these two places block motorists who are just going straightway. It was chaos yesterday. I spent 2 hours in that mess my dad said he spent 5 hours cos he was going to the mainland. Don't forget that there is another toll down admiralty (Lekoyi bridge) they all joined forces to attack anyone trying to access the alternative route. And alternative was busier than usual as a result of this avoidance.

  8. Hmmmm there was mad traffic yesterday. My home to office that should not take me more than 30/40mins without traffic took almost 2hrs.
I don't normally even pass the toll,i pass the alternative root. The alternative root was a stand still. Said let me reluctantly pass the toll maybe it will be free. Still traffic there. I brought out 150 thinking the increase shouldn't be more than N30. It was N200 and this didn't still mean that side was free. N400 to come and go is ridiculous.
Ambode should do something it is causing a real traffic gridlock.
This morning there is also serious traffic. What way Lagos state, what way Nigeria. Things are already difficult for people. Government is supposed to make things easier for their citizens. Instead ours keep making things impossible.
With time even the cost of transport will increase.

  10. The toll has increased to N400 for me. This means N800 to go to the mainland and back. I left my house earlier than before this morning, to take the alternative route. From now on, its the alternative route for me.
