Supreme Court Orders Olisa Metuh To Face Trial For Money Laundering

THE Supreme Court on Friday ruled that the former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh should face his trial in the N400 million money laundering charge preferred against him by the Federal Government.

The judgment of the Court of Appeal which was affirmed by the apex court on Friday had held that Metuh’s appeals failed to comply with the constitutional requirement.

According to the Court of Appeal, Metuh and his company failed to first obtain the leave of either the trial court or the appellate court before filing a notice of appeal as required by the Constitution when filing an appeal against an interlocutory decision, on the grounds of mixed law and facts.

Metuh, who had been complaining of ill health as he continued his defence at the Federal High Court Abuja, was on Feb.5 brought to court on a stretcher. The trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, adjourned Metuh’s trial until March 14. on the grounds of his ill health.

    1. Stella are you okay? So he shouldn't be tried cos others are free. Has it ever occurred to you that some day, it would be the turn of those walking free???

Maybe no one should be tried until all Nigerian money thiefs are locked up in 1 space according to you.

    1. And no part of your brain tells you that some day the so called cows will also face the music.

So imagine a president fights both opposition and his own party and tell me how 'ungovernable' they will make this country.

He is fighting only opposition now and they are trying all they can to brainwash dull Nigerians to believe their stealing of 16 was okay without noting that it's the massive theft that has brought us to where we are today.

  4. I remember Olisa Metuh's brother feeling like a God in prince and princess estate. The guy even had the guts to announce he will slap me. I assume then he felt he had all the power available to him to act lawless and go free. Now brother slapper, how far? oya go and show your power now. Go and begin to slap as you have a medal in slapping so your brother can walk free. Life is a stage people!
