CAN Rejects Ex-Boko Haram Recruit Into Army And Police Force

WHAT!!!!!!

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has opposed reported moves by the Federal Government directing the Nigerian Army and Police to recruit some former members of Boko Haram terrorists who recently underwent deradicalisation programme.

The President of CAN, Dr Samson Olasupo Ayokunle, said on Tuesday that if it is true, it is condemnable as it is capable of undermining the nation’s security system.

He said, “CAN is visibly disturbed at reports that the Federal Government has allegedly directed the Nigerian Army and Police to recruit some former members of Boko Haram terrorists who recently underwent deradicalisation programme. If it is true, CAN condemns such a policy in strong terms and ask the Federal Government, especially security agencies, to withdraw that directive which is capable of compromising the nation’s security system."

He also urged the Federal Government to caution the Adamawa State Government against hasty implementation of the death sentence passed on five Christian youths alleged to have killed a Fulani herdsman.

  7. I totally agree with CAN..

They should be verrrry careful in recruiting ex-boko haram members.
Who is to say that they have really been deradicalised???

Extremists who would do anything and everything? Oh please.
Then imagine when the government gives them guns as per police and army??
Then they are sent to the East to stand on the roads, all they would do is kill, steal and destroy. They would term every young man thief and shoot them.

We are trying to deal with SARS and their excesses and now this??
    This country is just doomed.

And for the 5 christians condemned to death for killing a herdsman, I just wonder why all the GO's and NGO's are not screaming on the top of their lungs!

What of the herdsmen that have been killing familier all over Benue?
Who has arrested any of them?

    Mtchew....

  14. They recruited them ex-militants into SARS during the amnesty program now look at what people have been going through in the hands of SARS. SARS have been killing people mercilessly right from GEJ’s tenure at least I know 2 people that were killer by them and 1 that almost died in their den... all innocently. Now they want to recruit ex-boko haram’s into the army and police so they will wipe out the entire nation. Once a bloody killer, always a bloody killer. When will Nigeria ever learn???
