News On Wednesday - As Easy Going As Governor Rotimi Amaechi.

Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has faulted comments credited to former Rivers state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Joseph Mbu, who described himself as a lion that was able to tame the governor in Port Harcourt. The Governor, while reacting through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. David Iyofor in Port Harcourt, said Mbu was a puppet, who lacks the steel and strength of a lion to control or tame Governor Amaechi as claimed.

This is the only governor i know who has been consistent with his controversies and has not allowed anyone in power to harass him into silence. He does not lick ass and does not allow his ass to be licked......suave,always dresses to suit the situation and loves Gucci wears....I don't know about you but gimme Amaechi any day on a no news day and i will be fine!....#hottie2day.

In defence of the allegation, the Nigerian government is insisting that the deal was legal. Report says that government has provided all proofs relating the transaction process to South Africa authority, confirming the genuineness of the transaction. Report says what was queried in the transaction after details were provided by the Nigerian government was the non-declaration of the cash by the officials from Nigeria.

.................................................................................................

Dear Stella,

Kindly allow me space in your blog to express my plight and I believe the plight of other women in my shoes who may not have the courage to cry out for help in this situation.

Rivers State Judiciary has been on strike since June 2014 due to the issue of who is to be the Chief Judge of the state.

Lawyers have not been going to court as the courts are under lock and key. Most families whose breadwinners are lawyers are greatly suffering it and I am affected too.

Police on the other hand is having a field day as they go about arresting people, impounding vehicles in the name of 'driving against traffic' and extorting large sums of money from their victims.

First of all, I must say that I am totally disappointed in Gov. Amaechi in the way he has kept quiet about the Judiciary strike. Has he forgotten so soon? Was he not a beneficiary of the Power of Justice? I remember very well how he ran away from Nigeria to our neighbouring country Ghana during the time of his Legal Battle against Omehia's Election till he won, came back and was sworn in. Now, he is fighting the same judiciary that gave him power.

How can you be so selfish as to allow the families of over 4000 lawyers who supported you and ensured justice was done in your case to suffer untold hardship? It is already 3months now since the Rivers state judiciary went on strike and the courts are under lock and key because of your insistence on imposing a Judge of your choice as the Chief Judge of Rivers state as against the most senior Judge.

These lawyers have families to carter for. Now schools are due to resume and fees must be paid. It has not been easy for parents who both have good paying jobs to carry family responsibilities talkless of one parent without sufficient income.

I know the governor or his political appointees/aids read your blog and may take the plea to him.

Please, please Gov. Amaechi, help us!!!!

Thanks.

Concerned Lawyer's wife.

How come they know the death toll more than we in the country.

The last time I even read an update on it, they said death toll was 59. maybe it would soon be 67, so the S.A peeps can rest...

Then we would also be able to conclude that no Nigerian died there. Only South Africans...

Gov Amechi plz do something about this issue and please sir when will u start paying corpers their state alowee too. The state is owing 4 + these new ones that will be out by next month. Its so unfair that someone will be posted to rivers where it is a mandatory teaching for all corpers and still be owed the state stipends....
I pray the Army to tamper justice with mercy. They should be given another punishment but not death penalty..

  28. Ah, rivers State Police, I can never forget my experience in their hands.
I drove from aba to PH dat faithful day to pick up my cake, my cake maker was seriously confusing me, one minute it is Airforce junction, the next Stadium rd, another atrium...finally her no wasn't connecting
I saw this policeman on the other side of one road, I just put trafficator , I never even turn o, 1 'yellow fever' man said I should turn, I thought he was being helpful, the moment I turned, he said it was a traffic offence, that they don't turn there...I wanted to mad when they said N350000, I ask them how much be the car kwanu?
They charged me for : dangerous driving and swerving in a manner harmful to other road users...hahahaha

They wasted my time there that day, till I remembered a friend whose mum is a commissioner, na that guy just bail me, even @ that, I paid 5k.

When I saw the cake maker ehn, na she suffer am. I just dey nag, useless nagging...lol

I am not sure anything can make me put my car on that PH road again. Everything is an offence there.
