“Join us now” says Genevieve
“This is important” says Omotola
The Future Awards Africa (TFAA) has announced the leading influencers
for its global campaign to pool 1 million young Africans to act against
Ebola in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. The #StopEbola campaign will
be led by TFAA Young Person of the Year 2013, Ashish Thakkar and Africa’s leading creative icons - Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Paris-based Asa Elemide.
“This goes to the core of what is important to me, and what should be
important to all of us who are very concerned about our continent,” said
Jalade-Ekeinde, who has been spokesperson for Amnesty International and
the United Nations. “Just when the world has begun to pay attention to
Africa as a destination for rapid growth and investment, we cannot allow
Ebola define the narrative. We need to put a stop to this immediately,
and young people need to take the lead.”
“Ebola has been defeated in Nigeria,” said Nnaji who has actively
supported causes including the Pink Ball against cancer. “This shows
that with the will and resources it can be defeated anywhere else. We
need to get involved beyond talk and beyond sympathy. As long as it
remains anywhere in Africa, we are all at risk, and we can come together
to stop this from happening. Join me, and join all of us now on

ReplyDeleteOkay
ReplyDeleteNigeria does not have an Ebola problem and really these campaigns do nothing at all to help reduce the cases of the virus in the affected countries.
ReplyDeleteThe issues in Nigeria are caused by bad governance.
Can they campaign against the insensitivy of our President? No. Why? Because they don't care about anyone but themselves!
I DUNT EXACTLY UNDERSTAND THE CAMPAIGN. EBOLA IS NOT LIKE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, WHERE U PREACH TO MEN TO SPARE THEIR WIVES, IT'S A VIRUS -
ReplyDeleteARE U TELLING THE VIRUS TO STOP SPREADING?? ITS NATURAL INSTINCT IS TO ATTACK CELLS AND -SPREAD!
THIS IS A PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUE- IF U WANNA CAMPAIGN HOWEVA, GO TO LIBERIA, THAT IS WHERE YOUR INFORMATION/AWARENESS IS NEEDED MOST!
ALL I SEE ARE PRETTY FACES ON POSTERS - THIS DOES NOTHING! WHY WILL I DONATE TO UN, WHEN AFRICA LEADERS HAVE BILLION DOLLARS STORED UP IN BANKS-ALL STOLEN WEALTH. ONLY A TINY % OF AFRICANS ACN AFFORD TO DONATE TO CHARITIES- BUT THEY WONT. SO HOW WILL MY PENNIES HELP? HOW WILL HUNGRY AFRICANS DONATE TO THIS CAUSE? WHY WOULD THEY? OH AFRICA, HOLD YOUR LEADERS ACCOUNTABLE! UNTIL YOU DO, YOU REMAIN A LAUGHING STOCK IN TODAY'S WORLD!
YOU THINK THE UNITED NATIONS CARE ABOUT YOU? ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL BUT SOME ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS!SO WHY SHOULD THEY? YOU HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO CHANGE YOUR WORLD BUT YOU STILL CRAWL, BEGGING A MAN LIKE YOU FOR ZMAPP. OH, AFRICA.
THE WORLD IS AWARE OF EBOLA - WHAT THEY NEED NOW IS VOLUNTEERS TO HELP DETECT NEW CASES AND BURY THE DEAD PROPERLY. U WANNA HELP? AGAIN, GO TO LIBERIA, OMO AND GENE, THAT IS WHERE YOUR HELP IS MOST NEEDED!
WAHOOOOOOOO THIS IS EPIC!!!
Deletehahahaha stella, I notice how you left out your 'friend' Joybewaji's poster. hahaha. anyways, leave her out; she's a lot of trouble.
