Nnamdi Kanu Allegedly Begs Britain To Help Him Restore His Dignity And Freedom.

Detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has appeal to the British High Commission in Nigeria to prevail upon the Federal Government to set him free.

Kanu, who was arrested on October 14, 2015 and has since been incarcerated, said his trial on treasonable felony is politically orchestrated by the Nigerian government.

The letter dated August 16 and sent to the British High Commissioner by his lawyer, reads in part, “In the face of this conspiratorial plot by the Nigerian government to hang our client at all cost and by any means, we respectfully invite the British government to demonstrate more responsive concern in restoring the dignity and freedom if our client whose fundamental rights as guaranteed under the supreme laws of the land and relevant international conventions has been grossly violated by Nigerian government.”

The IPOB leader also accused the Nigerian government of frustrating his defence.
“Despite our stiff opposition to this application (protection of witnesses), the honourable court for reasons best known to him, apparently not supported by any legal precedence or judicial authorities made a volte-face and strangely varied the order he made on the 19th day of February, 2016.

“In effect, the court granted an application for a secret trial of our client, a British citizen obviously sitting in appeal against his order made on the February 2016,” the letter noted.

*How can his trial be politically Orchestrated?OH PLEASE!
This man has been detained for longer than Necessary which is an abuse of his human rights but my fear is that if released he may do more harm than good and i am sure this is a lot of peoples fear and probably why the UK does not want to intervene.

He should be made to sign an order restricting him from carrying out any form of protest that will lead to war and loss of lives in Nigeria

All you pro-Biafra people who like to cuss out anyone who says their mind, you are free to air yours but Cusses and unintelligent discourse will not be enabled here..Enough is enough.

  1. Politically motivated. Yea right! I guess the video I watched where you were inciting ppl to violence and threatening a sovereign nation was doctored. Always wailing. You cry Biafra but still come into yoir Biafra through nigerian borders. You keep your wife and kids safe but incite less priviledged youths to go die painful deaths while you live in luxury. If you were not caught in lagos, youd have escaped back to britain just like that. They should stop keeping him unnecessarily and take him to trial once and for all.

I expect to see cusses as usual. On this blog, one must not say his/her thought except it agrees with some "powers" that be,especially on ethnic matters. We allow our sentiments to becloud our fair reasoning. Cusses back to anybody in advance. 10 folds.

    Off to work.

    4. Thanks Ivory you've said it all. It beats my imagination how he's suddenly become innocent after threatining Somalia for Nigeria. Boasting they have cache of weapons. Fundraising for weapons with heavy chested bodyguards. Calling Nigeria a zoo and the President a pedophile. All of a sudden there is the rise of internet zombies who go about attacking anyone who's view doesn't agree with theirs...after heeding to their master's call. All of a sudden he is innocent, wao. Listen to radio Biafra and hear the madness they preach there. He who cannot live with anyone, can obviously not live alone. Ask south Sudan.

    5. He fought federal government of Nigeria so he should stay there and continue with the fight while those fools and blind followers and supporters stay here and winge. He is part of our problems so he can stay there and rote away. If Britain felt he wasaid fighting a just cause, they would have raised their voice for his freedom. If you come under my comment to spit rubbish, may thunder fire you and your family. I'm very angry this morning.

    6. Well said ivory and anonymous 11:12. No more, no less.

Playing the victims card all of a sudden. You committed treason my friend, deal with it. Why would the British govt intervene in something they know is unlawful and wouldn't encourage in their own country? You think they can be monopolized by cheap sentiments? Try again

    1. Buhari and his act of vengeance you say? After threatening to wage war against a country, buying weapons it's now buhari's fault. Let me remind you Buhari is the President of Nigeria thus his responsibility to protect its sovereignty. If the FG didn't act and tomorrow he fulfilled his threats same people will come barking how Buhari did nothing.

    2. Abegy, the overwhelming evidences against him are enough to keep him behind bars for ever, and that is in any country where the system works. Do u know how many people lost their lives when the nonsense started? Imagine they didn't arrest this man... they should try him and sentence him once and for all. That's all.

  10. So Kanu is appealing to the UK government to help him after all the protest, disunity and loss of lives his biafra protest has caused??? So is this how he will abandon his supporters when he starts another war?Shame on him but the biggest shame goes to his supporters who don't want to use their brain, how many of you have dual citizenship that can enable you port quickly when the reality of war stares you in the face? before you clamour for war and separation just go and watch Videos of the Syrian war and any other real life war on the Internet, maybe that will reset your brain.

  13. What is even more annoying is the fact that Igbos don't like themselves and have this arrogant superiority complex among themselves. Now how will they survive? their case will just be like that of south Sudan.they will start another civil war between themselves and make life miserable for innocent children.

  16. Stella, this is not even about Nnamdi Kanu alone.

We all can't hold the same view on issues so people should be allowed to air their opinions in peace without being insulted for it.

Why call people names because they have processed something in a different way?

Can you not disagree under the persons comment and come up with a superior argument?

This not a market place. It is a blog and we are here to have fun but let's curb our madness and know our limits.

  19. This Nnamdi Kanu or whatever is an unintelligent fellow . How can he leave the comfort of his abode in UK and expect not to locked up in Nigeria indefinitely? He should sign whatever needs to be signed and go back and take care of his new family. Or he can prove stubborn and die like a rat just like Abiola. And the country will move on like nothing happen or some jobless lazy youths can take to the streets and risk getting shot by soldiers doing their legitimate job.

    1. Biafra or the darling LAND OF THE RISING SUN can not or ever be forgotten. In stead of agitating for the breakaway of Biafra from Nigeria, I think what they should be doing is pushing for the Biafra-Nigerian civil war to be nationaly recognize and a day set aside to remember and honor all those who lost their lives during the war especially the Biafrans. Over 1 million were strategically starved to death by Obafemi Awolowo and the Nigerian military government at large.

He must be drunk!!! He should relocate with his family back to Nigeria if he's serious about championing the agitation for the actualization of Biafra.
He's methods are crude and highly ridiculous!!!
      GOD BLESS NIGERIA.

  25. And to think he's not even a Nigerian citizen!

They should just kill him already, treason is punishable by death in any(?) country and if released, I'm sure he'll cause chaos and death, he may become stronger and go under.

Anyone who wishes death on others for no sensible reason deserves death!

And gullible people were ready to die for this joke of a man? Y'all can see how he's abandoned your "Biafra" and started claiming British citizen? That's how he'll dump you guys after causing death of many.

    War ko, war ni.

Britain has better things to do with their time anyway, like people who call on the Nigerian Govt. when caught with drugs in, say Singapore, you use hand find wahala, you're on your own, especially when there are law abiding citizens to worry about.

  29. He incited War but there was no war. Do you think IGBOS are stupid like others? Buhari is just victimising and fighting people. When Buhari said so many hateful thing did anyone arrest him? Even when some of his brothers made hateful comments were they locked up? No. Ali Modu Sherrif imported arms for Boko Haram via Kano Int'l Airport and the arms were impounded, he quickly entered Kano that same day but midnight, did GEJ arrested him? Now an Igbo man said his, coupled with the fact that some Igbos didn't vote for him which is still boiling him till date, and he decided to use that to get IGBOs.
My prayer is God will help NK and the accumulated grudges Baba no clue had for Christians will visit him one day.
