Mel B Ordered To Pay Her Estranged Hubby Stephen Belafonte $40k A Month In Spousal Support And $140k For Legal Fees

A Court has ordered former Spice Girl, Mel B to pay her estranged husband Stephen Belafonte $40,000 a month in
spousal support until both sides work out their final divorce
settlement.

Mel B who is divorcing Stephen after ten years of marriage, cited irreconcilable differences in legal papers filed at Los Angeles Superior Court. She also revealed in divorce documents he got their children’s nanny pregnant.

A court has now ordered her to pay him $40,000 a month. Stephen’s request for emergency spousal support was granted by a judge who agreed that he needs help paying for food, housing and his phone, among other things.

TMZ reports that it could have been worse for Mel B as she could be have been forced to pay $15k more per month but the judge cut her a break.

“The order also includes a one-time payment of $140,000 for Stephen’s legal fees. So, Mel will have to cut a check for that, plus $40k monthly, until both sides work out their final divorce settlement. Mel argued last month that Stephen’s financial requests were ridiculous and he needed to get a job. Looks like he can afford to be picky about work … for a while at least.”

    3. No mind them.... If I were the man, I would deliberately delay any thing in order to work it out like 2 years, wreck her very well.

    4. The judge is not a mad man, the law is in black and white for all to read including you. Even MelB knew she would have to pay him something, the point of going to court is to determine how much and for how long. She was smart enough to divorce him before their 10th anniversary as that would mean paying him for life, until he dies. They live in California and will go by the law.

    1. Did you say "unfair to women?" No, no, no, I am a woman and live in the states. Women are the greatest beneficiaries of this system. These are some of the laws that are getting abused and is getting obsolete. Pray that it get reformed instead of sulking.

  5. I totally disagree with you guys. I'm a woman and since we women always cried about gender equality, this is where gender equality comes in after all what is good for the goose should be good be good for the gander. If the table is turned and the guy is richer than Mel, no one will cry foul about her getting his money. Let's be fair as women should paid spousal support just like like men does.#genderequality

  10. Classic case of monkey dey work baboon dey chop. He should get a JOB simple. After getting her maid pregnant, abusing her through the years he now wants to sit back while she works her ass off to support him? im all for gender equality and what all but in most cases where the husband pays for spousal support it's almost always because he is at fault which means Mel bs husband should be paying her and not the other way round.
