Zimbabwe has officially declared 21st February to be Robert Gabriel Mugabe National Youth Day, thereby effectively making the former president's birthday a public holiday.

According to the Herald Zimbabwean Newspaper, the notice is contained in Statutory Instrument 143 published in the Government Gazette on Friday.

The Statutory Instrument reads; His Excellency the President, in terms of Section 2(2) of the Public Holidays and Prohibition of Business Act, hereby makes the following notice:

(1) This notice may be cited as the Public Holidays and Prohibition of Business Notice, 2017.

(2) It is hereby declared that the 21st February of every year henceforth, shall be a public holiday to be known as the Robert Gabriel Mugabe National Youth Day.

I m sure rochas will even make a statue of him soon

  2. Ndi ala.
Anyway, Mugabe was a good nationalist. A vocal one at that.
Let's just assume this in honour of that and not his being a sole Fuller for 37yrs.

  3. I like this. Such a good way to honour him.
I never subscribed to reaching menopause on the seat of power but let us also not to be quick to forget how instrumental he was to the freedom of his people.

  4. Them really like Mugabe. It's just that his wife is very toxic.
