    1. It’s not right for teachers to lay their hands on students, for their own good and the students own good, you never know what will happen if you touch the child. Child might collapse and you’re in soup. There are other ways to discipline a child in school without resorting to whooping. Leave the whooping and it’s associated risk to the parents. RIP to this teacher and I hope Justice is achieved.

    2. Am just coming back from my son's school, his Teacher flogged his nails, said he bullied his class mate. He cried so much last night, you can see black blood on the nails. Some of this Teachers should take it easy and fear God. I've told her that if anything similar to this happen again, I will not let her go free.

    3. You should be reprimanding your kids. Bullying is a serious crime. And talking of fear of God, you should also talk to your child

Not to drag an old matter back, but this is one angle we tried to tell Eka about on the issue of student flogging. I recall a few of us mentioned the akoba adaba angle, pikin wey get winch for body wey just dey find who to manifest on top. It sounds so innocent and ridiculous, but this shit happens. I feel so bad for the poor teacher , I hope justice gets served. Handling other people's kids no be yam o, teachers should be prayerful. Some flog kids and their hands swell! Or ache for months so tey they cant use it well. God help us.

  6. When my son was seven , l went to pick him from school, l met him looking very sad and depressed. I got to know he wetted his body with urine, for close to 30 mins he make effort to go ease himself but he was not allowed to, when he could no longer hold it he let go. I cried, tears was flowing. I went to look for the idiotic female teach , l didn't see her. Thank God l didn't, l probably would have killed her for humiliating my son. The next day l sent my kid sisters after her. I don't have any regret.

Corporal punishment was banned in our schools in the mid 1980s, but all these teachers pretend as if they don't know.

    RIP beautiful woman.

    1. Abeg, let us hear word with the kind of stories y'all like to believe

No sane person will see a little kid that wants to urinate and won't let him.

They probably tried to explain to you the situation that led to his bedwetting but of course you are probably the kind of parent that doesn't wanna take any explanations.

      We know una type

    3. Lie oo Eka, our teacher didn't allow us to go out to pee, she used to say we were lying until one boy peed on her hands while she was busy pinching him in between his thighs..

    4. Eka...there are some miserable teachers. I have been denied bathroom breaks in the past. More than once infact. That might not be what truthfully happened in the above scenario but it has happened to me. At the time...i had to obey because teacher said no but now that I'm grown..i see how malicious and uncalled for it was.

Eka,stop trying too hard to make these people see reasons with you.

Let everyone bring up their wards in the way they think is right.

The quest for OYINBONIZATION and trying to be posh will spell doom for a lot of these kids in future.

No wonder there are many brats all over the place.

    7. Eka if a school have you as a teacher in the school, I'll withdraw my child from the school.
You must be one of the mean teacher we hear and see in school.
I remember when I was in school the hairstyle for the week was all back and base but some students twisted the base part and this wicked and jealous teacher that doesn't have long hair started going from class to class to cut the hair of students that made twisting. The parents of the students she cut their daughters hair came to fight her. From the look of it u must be a wicked teacher

  10. Rip teacher teacher,is a pity u learn ur lesson in a very hard way,pls in ur next life don't hit other poeple kids , for the woman that killed the teacher cos of her child, hope you rot in jail and learn ur own lesson in a very hard way too, cos both party learnt their lessons in a very hard way. Cos experience is the best teacher, school authority should not wait to suspend or expel any student that refuse to obey the rules & regulation of their schools this wll lessen burden for teachers.

  11. Corporal punishment should be removed from school. There is no reason for a teacher to be hitting any child. What about detention, or doing special work around the school, or having to stay in class while your peers are on lunch or recess. There are more effective forms of punishment than beating. I do not know how ppl will condone the beating of children but raise a ruckus over domestic violence, it's the same thing. Violence is violence and just because a child is weaker or dependent on you for their survival does not mean they should be beaten. Moreover, because it was done to you and you turned out all right does not mean it is okay, what if you were never beaten who is to say you wouldn't turn out way better in life than you are today. Most of us are average ppl living mediocre lives, and the vast majority of us were beaten, so beating does not lead to a spectacular existence.

  12. if u don't want your child to be flogged, then teach that child yourself. that's why we have so many children who lack respect

    ReplyDelete
  13. ABEG , all of you should take several seat back. To spank a child now is violence? what are saying? Don't even scold the child and allow the kids to do whatever they like. Some of you here cannot even control their wards at all. No respect from their kids to them anymore. I know someone that have so many vices and poor academic history but the way the teacher handled him made him to turn out a brilliant guy. Go and watch what a brazillian toddler did to his mum when she tried to spank him- gave her public disgrace. It was a sorry sight. No sane person will not allow an adult to answer call of nature not to talk of a child.Except if the teacher is from another world.

A child insulted an elderly woman in church and the mother told her to kneel and apologise. Do you know what she told the mother? have i ever kneel down for you before? So, why should i do for a stranger?
The result of this modern parenting will yield results in future.

  14. Yes, Madame, to spank a child is violent because if a grown man or woman spank you will you tell them thank you for reprimanding you? Spanking is lazy parenting, it does not call for any creativity or analysis. The fact that your child is acting out at home or in public means you have not done any proactive parenting. It means what your child sees and hears at home is disorder and so they exhibit the same disorder. Spanking is for those who practice reactive parenting, who are not involved or engaged in their child's life, so they are under no direction, and as soon as things go in the opposite direction let me raise my hand, grab a belt, broom, shoe or whatever they will use to teach the child a lesson.

What of the students who have lost their eyes, broken limbs and even their lives because of some teacher 'scolding' them? Children are dying and losing their limbs daily because some teacher feelt it is their right to dole out punishment, just because it hasn't happened to your child doesn't make it right. All flogging in schools should stop! There are far more effective ways to punish an unruly child, if and up to expulsion.
