Ethiopian Airline Unable To Land In Enugu Makes U-turn To Ethiopia

An Ethiopian international flight which could not land at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu on Sunday due to bad weather was forced to make a quick u-turn and flew back to Ethiopia.

The bad weather was occasioned by the harmattan season. The passengers who expressed anxiety and concerns were said to have protested the development, although their protest could not change the situation.

It was gathered that the Ethiopian international flight was scheduled to land at the Akanu Ibiam airport by 3pm but when it got there it was not safe and proper for landing, hence it made quick ‘U-TURN’ and flew back to Ethiopia.

The passengers were said to have protested, but their safety and life meant more to the Airport authority and the Ethiopian Airline who later checked all the passengers into a hotel in Ethiopia, according to the airport official.

    1. Liar! Liar and liar. Obviously you just want to defend her corruption. The airports are for FG not state governments. She was the one not following protocol just because she wanted to make international airlines fly to the East. She even threatened Turkish airline of ending their license if they decide not to fly to Enugu. Stella, your question was in order? They could have diverted to Abuja, Lagos, or Kano. They fly to these cities. The pilot was stupid to return considering the risk and possibility of fuel going off while in the airspace

  5. I guess because of rules and regulation. They wouldn't just do it like that because they want to waste aviation fuel
