Gov Ambode On A Demolition Spree?

This is so heart breaking to wake up to..........

Madam Stella,
.. As I write this , I'm crying and my family is in a state of confusion. This morning being the 29th day of December, we were just at home when suddenly we heard screams downstairs , we went there we were met by police men who ordered us to leave the building within 20mins that Ambode ordered the demolition of the path, we thought it was a joke till the caterpillars all came and stated breaking down buildings.

Stella, it was like a movie, we had to rush and pack somethings, the harassment and embarrassment was too much. It wasn't funny, I was crying, we were all in disarray. This hard period, this festive period and Ambode had to give such orders, no notice, nothing at all..

My heart is heavy cause I dunno how this celebration will be and most of our funds are for our shops and schooling, the Lord is our strength. This is the worst Christmas ever, can't believe it even happened. Please if you live in Ebute metta ,especially from Oyingbo towards costain , Please start thinking of moving from there, because the orders to demolish may reach those sides....

I dont want to believe that the people who did this did not send out a demolition notice......This is so wrong!!
Gov Ambode will order that houses be demolished in these hard times without resettling these people somewhere temporary?
This is wickedness in every sense of the word....These politicians only act like human begins when election time is near.....This is change indeed!!!

    2. I witnessed this kind of demolishing recently in Karu and i can tell you that the people who carry out the act itself are completely heartless. As in no mercy irrespective of whether you were given notice or not.

    3. Stella, don't get so emotional just yet. Am sure the government will publish a rebuttal soon.
Regardless, it is quite alot of trouble the displaced occupants have been subjected to particularly considering the fine economic moments we're in.

  2. So sad. But I want to believe they would have given notice before now. Most people ignore such notices sometimes.

    1. Nigerians are too hard headed, such happened in PH 2yrs ago, they were presented with a notice, some prominent buildings were even made to sign after receivin the letter notifying the approval of bulldozer to do wat its best known for, yet they remained like the sun... praying & fueling yeye rumours that Amaechi has changed his mind, God had softened his mind, bla bla bla, till they came like a thief in the night! BRING IT ALL DOWN!!!!! then they say the Gov is heartless.

    2. Same thing happened in my area too. Some went as far fasting and praying. My church that was given notice, just did the needful. They did not resort to praying and hoping the govt will forget or go elsewhere.

  6. Stella don't fret.. The land owners know where their land reach o and they got demolition notice. They just use govt portion as long as they can have it till expansion begins. My mum even showed me where our land reached by the gate, she is old but she hasn't forgotten. Be wise!!!

Sad very sad when people lose where they lay their heads and and make a living.
We should learn not to be in a hurry to become landlords especially in Lagos.
People putting up structures should do their due diligence with government agencies to avoid situations like this.

  10. I'm confused here. What street is this? From Oyingbo towards Costain is Apapa road in WEST if I'm not mistaken. The streets are legal na.

Where was demolished? The areas to Total Filling Station Iponri, behind Mobil Filling Station heading to NIIT or to the left of the eateries before Ajayi Hospital? Abi na right side market through the railway track to Leadway Assurance Building. Biko na that route I dey follow dodge traffic go connect Iponri under bridge to stadium on a bad traffic day. Wetin Gov and bulldozers dey find for Ebute Metta back back?

This administration is acting like 2019 elections is gonna be a walkover but they may get a huge surprise.

Gov Akinwunmi Ambode remember the saying, "you can win all the battles and still not win the WAR?
    #beguided.

Sorry dear bv, I can hear the wailings all the way from here. Hold down your parents well. God wil replenish.

  11. I pray not to sound insensitive as it's not my intention to....
Poster, my heart goes out to you and my prayers also. May God restore all you have lost and provide shelter....
I dont know the circumstance that resulted to this However, sometimes these demolitions are necessary. I may not be pro Elrufai but the demolition fine in Abuja is the best thing ever. Area 1 was Beginininh to be a "Lions den"... Lugbe was something else. Traffic and all... Berger was another den... I cant explain it but We are now enjoying the greater good cos Abuja would ve been worse than Lagos.
I pray landlords start follwing the actual plan for building...

It would be wicked not to have given prior notice tho...

I don't know bout yours but I HEARD they settled those who were affected in Abuja prior the demolition.

My prayer remains with you tho

  13. This has been ongoing in the igbogbo area of ikorodu. Would really love to sympathize with these people or blame Ambode.

Inasmuch as I feel the plight of the people affected, I have come to realize that without this development will never come to igbogbo as in never.

You need to see how the buildings in that igbogbo area is (I live way after that area), those kind of buildings that make your friends say things like 'see as the road to ur place be'. With their many orisas and tiny roads and dirty gutters.

I'm grateful for this new educated oba that is finally giving way for development.

Imagine, no bank at all in a large area like that. But since this oba came, atm came and then two banks are almost completed.

So I do stand with Ambode on this. This is totally necessary. I hope they compensate the people affected tho.

  15. That is how Oyo State governor sacked state hospital's doctors few days ago. Osun state governor too refused to pay full salary to workers despite the Paris re-fund given to him. God is watching them all

  16. It's a welcomed development as long as they carry everybody along via notices/compensation/temporary reliefs. Poster I do understand it's not easy but without notice is kinda hard to believe. Pele!
