Brit Jailed in Dubai For Sending WhatsApp Rant To Dodgy Car Dealer Over 'Deathtrap' Second-Hand Motor

This is so shocking!!!

A BRIT working in Dubai was jailed there for moaning on WhatsApp about a second-hand car.
Estate agent Yaseen Killick, 29, paid £6,000 for the VW Golf only for it to break down within hours.

He then discovered it was previously a write-off — so angrily messaged the seller to ask: “How do you sleep at night knowing you are ripping people off?’’
Yaseen, who had moved to the Gulf state with his wife Robyn, 31, was arrested after the man complained to cops.

He spent three weeks behind bars — and was then kicked out of the country.

Yaseen said: “It was a nightmare. The prison conditions were horrific. I was treated appallingly — all for sending a WhatsApp message.”

Yaseen and Robyn decided to buy the VW Golf after seeing it advertised in the Dubai version of Gumtree

Frustrated Yaseen messaged the car seller about the dodgy motor who complained to local authorities about being sent abusive messages

Wife Robyn, a teacher, sobbed in Kingston, South West London: 'We have lost our home and our jobs and it's been horrible all over this guy ripping us off and we are so badly out of pocket.

''We went there to try as a last adventure before coming back to England and getting married and starting a family but it's left us really badly out of pocket."

It later emerged the car that Yaseen and Robyn purchased had been written off in a crash by insurers but then cheaply rebuilt

Her husband was seized at Dubai airport as the couple headed to catch a flight home for Christmas.

Radha Stirling, of pressure group Detained In Dubai, said: ''The United Arab Emirates has some of the strictest cyber crime laws in the world and many people have fallen foul of them - even if they are outside of Dubai.

Yaseen Killick said the 'useless' British Embassy told him that they could not get involved in the case
