Cross River APC Chairman And Wife Involved In Fatal Crash

On Saturday,The state chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River, Dr Matthew Achigbe, and his wife were involved in a Fatal accident....

Achigbe died in an auto crash along Afikpo Road in Ebonyi State in the early hours of Saturday while on his way back from a church programme in Enugu State.

He reportedly died alongside other yet-to-be-identified occupants in his Toyota Sports Utility Vehicle. The state party Vice Chairman, Mr. John Ochala, said the news came as a rude shock to party members.

He said, “He went for a Catholic Church programme and was on his way to Obubra when this incident happened. He was to meet with the party leaders in Obubra Local Government Area and the leaders were already gathered and waiting in his house when the news filtered in that he had died in a fatal road accident. Everybody is in a state of shock, we cannot make any comment for now.”

Late Achigbe hails from Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State and until his death, was the factional APC chieftain in Cross River State.

  1. It's a pity.

The word "FACTIONAL" caught my attention here. So there were factions in APC in this state? Did someone's brake fluid leak or . . . ? Make my mouth no leak o.

  5. I saw this yesterday on Nairaland and I was shocked at the comments there. People were happy that he died because he was an APC member. Some went as far as saying two down as per the man and his wife and more to go? Really? When did we get to this level of having no human feelings? Some comments are not meant to be enabled especially looking at the victims and how mangled their bodies were in that accident. May God help us and may they Rest In Peace.

  7. This is so horrible that his first daughter lost her husband last week and the family was already in mourning mood.God this man was a dedicated through bred scholar. This life is indeed empty.God knows best may the family at this painful time be comforted by God only him can fill the void.
