Taylor Swift And Beyonce Named Forbes Most Powerful Women In 2018

Taylor Swift and Beyoncé are two of the most powerful women in the world in 2018 according to Forbes.

In fact, Taylor and Beyoncé are the only two singers on the publication's annual World's 100 Most Powerful Women list. Taylor ranks #68, and Beyoncé's #50. In the Media & Entertainment category, Beyoncé is #6, while Taylor is #9. Others on the list include: Oprah Winfrey, Shonda Rhimes, Serena Williams and Priyanka Chopra.

Beyoncé made the list because in 2018 , she became the first black woman to headline Coachella, raked in millions with her On the Run II tour, and used her power to hire the first African-American photographer ever to shoot the cover of Vogue, for an issue over which she had complete editorial control.

Beyoncé also earned about $60 million in the past year, making her the third-highest-paid female musician.

Taylor made the list because this year, she set a record for the highest-grossing tour in U.S. history with her Reputation stadium tour, and leveraged her fame to encourage her fans to vote. There were 65,000 new voter registrations in the 24 hours after she told fans to vote in the November midterm elections....

Forget numbers Beyoncé really doesn’t have that many bops, like hits they constantly play on the radios. Don’t get me wrong, she has a few but compared to most pop stars I’d say she is on the low end. I think her status let’s her get away with making experimental music that really isn’t that great but people still eat it up. It’s more like she’s just famous for being famous, her music comes 2nd in a way.
Taylor too..... Her early work showed promise musically, but she has not lived up to expectations because her fame, social media and film appearances have grown far out of proportion to her musical abilities. She is therefore huge commercial success, but she is not making music that we will be listening to in ten years, except for a few tracks on her early albums.....she has perfected a method of selling records in these difficult times, by creating a cult of personality that ensures that fans will play her music on repeat until they have brainwashed themselves to like it.

    1. Bey is on the low end? I'm sure you're in the seventeenth century, go mingle with Shakespeare et al

    2. You dont sound too smart
      1. Beyonce released I Am Sasha Fierce in 2008. 10 years ao. Fast foward to 2018, I Am Sasha Fierce is still on the Billboard Charts! In fact, 3 Beyonce albums appeared on the Billboard Charts in 2018! How many of your faves can say that about their music? So if songs Beyonce released 10 years ago are still charting in 2018, doesn't that make absolute nonsense of your claims that 'she is not making music that we will be listening to in ten years?'

      2. How does Beyonce not have many hits when she is the ONLY ARTIST to have six albums consecutively debut at #1? How can you say Beyonce doesnt have many hits when even though she hasn't put music on Apple and Spotify in over FIVE YEARS, she is amongst the top 10 most streamed Female Artists on both platforms? Her lowest selling lead single has gone multiplatinum. Where are your receipts?

      3. You sound even dumber for suggesting that Beyonce uses social media to advance her career instead of pure talent! Beyonce hardly ever uses Twitter. She rarely posts on Instagram. Everyone and their mother knows that. How many movies has Beyonce even been in? So what's your point?

      4. A lower end artist who is the most awarded artist of this generation with 22 Grammys? A lower end artist who is one of the most successful touring acts of all time with over $1 billion earned in concerts? A lower end artist with over 100 million records sold JUST AS A SOLO ARTIST? We haven't even added the records she sold as a member of Destiny's Child!

      5. I see you conveniently left out the fact that Beyonce hasn't put music on radio or debuted music on Youtube or even promoted her music the way Rihanna, Adele and co do in over 5 years! And yet, DIL still broke streaming records. And yet, her songs have still gone multi platinum. If she was lower end, would all these still happen?

You have contradicted yourself enough with this diatribe. Next time, come with receipts like I have so you don't sound as laughable.

    3. You're contradicting yourself, ma'am. She's not making hits, but she's making huge commercial success? How, when music is her main source of income?
      You're not making sense ma

    6. King Eze be yarning dust...read up on Beyonce and stop being ignorant. See mouth like lower end..

    7. Oh King Eze, you're just like your name; tautological, contradictory and nonsensical!
You should've used the data you wasted in Googling these rather cliched and pedestrian clapbacks to Google some facts so you can at least make an iota of sense.
      I bombarded you with facts.
And like the dim-witted empty barrel you are, you resorted to cheap clapbacks you googled on the Internet.
Typical intellectually lazy buffoon that you are.
Then again, what can I expect from someone who calls themself 'King King?'
Once again, provide receipts next time so you don't look so idiotic!

    10. @Anon 21; 35 My dear, she has so many songs with meaning. Pretty Hurts, If I Were A Boy, All Night and too many to count. Alas haters like you must always hate.
Truth be told, the people who matter don't think she's overrated. That's why she's a 22 time Grammy Award Winner. Pray tell, is your fave a 22 time Grammy Award winner?
If Beyonce should die today, she will be hailed as a legend, trail blazer, icon, etc. etc. I don't know why that makes you so sad. It should rather inspire you!
