Footballer Emiliano Sala's Corpse Has Been Identified In Crashed Plane Wreckage

The body recovered from the wreckage of a crashed plane is that of Cardiff City player Emiliano Sala, Dorset Police have said.

Sala, 28, was travelling to Cardiff in a plane piloted by David Ibbotson, which went missing over the English Channel on 21 January.

The Argentine's body was recovered late on Wednesday after the wreckage was found on Sunday morning. Dorset Police confirmed the identification on Thursday night.

In a statement, the force said: "The body brought to Portland Port today, Thursday 7 February 2019, has been formally identified by HM Coroner for Dorset as that of professional footballer Emiliano Sala.

"The families of Mr Sala and the pilot David Ibbotson have been updated with this news and will continue to be supported by specially-trained family liaison officers."

The body was spotted in the wreckage of the plane on Monday and the authorities were able to recover it two days later, despite "challenging conditions".

    1. Why do I find it hard to empathise with people?

Ever since I lost my parent, my emotional empathy gauge has been reducing and I'm very scared right now!

Any Doctor in the house who can help me? Please

    2. Anonymous 13:34.When you numb yourself to one emotion, you stop having feelings. Nobody deserves to lose a loved one,u inclusive. You cant change the situation or circumstances surrounding ur parents death. I dont know all u suffered or still suffering as a result of being an orphan. You have ur lifetime ahead of u to show and receive love. If u have things still bottled inside pls open up to people. Some times strong people need support. When u are cold,it drives people from you. You dont have to say a thousand words, just pray for anyone who lost a loved one. Hold their hands or give a hug..Never forget You are most loved by the heavenly father

  17. Na wa... So he was later pronounced dead? I was hoping for a positive end.

...and to think F.C Nantes is still asking for their money even when the player never resumed duty is beyond me. Anyway, I know FIFA must have a rule governing that.

    God rest his soul.

  26. Life really makes no promises to any of us, in one moment he signed a multimillion deal, in the next death. What is this life that no man can conquer, oh that we may remain humble for what power do we have over this life that the landlord can reclaim at any moment with no warning or respect to give an answer. Bodies and spirits always on loan, never to be owned.

May his family find the strength to endure their loss.
