Nigerian Police Confirms That It Invited The Dakolos For Questioning And Explain Why...

The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed that its operatives served official invitation letters to Busola and Timi Dakolo.

Police Spokesman, Frank Mba, in a statement Saturday night, said the letter was sequel to an ongoing police investigation involving Busola Dakolo, COZA founder, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo and others.

He explained that the invite was not synonymous with a Warrant of Arrest, and must not be misconstrued to be one.

“Rather, it is a polite investigative tool used in eliciting information voluntarily from parties to aid police investigations”, Mba noted.
Members of the public should see it as a legitimate act in line with the constitutional mandate of the police, which among other things include the investigation of all complaints brought before it.

“The Inspector-General of Police, IGP MA Adamu NPM, mni has appealed for calm, and is reassuring Nigerians that the Police Force under his watch will remain professional, impartial and unreservedly committed to the pursuit of justice in this case and all other cases before it.”

Hours earlier, Dakolo raised the alarm that armed men believed to be security operatives were in front of his house located in Agungi, Lagos.

*Now hat this is clear,I hope they will honour the Invitation so that the Police can get on with their investigations and we can have the results soon.

    2. Was there any invitation? I doubt if there was any because if there was, Timi wouldn't raise an alarm the way he did...

    3. Stella the gist in town is that you collected money from fatoyinbo to spin the story in his favor. Please respond. How much did he give you? And are you not ashamed of yourself as a woman, whom I am sure had been molested in the past. No one in your previous line of work would have escaped rape. Shame on YOU!

    4. SINCE IT IS THE GIST IN TOWN;THEN IT SHOULD CARRY THE COMPLETE INFO OF HOW MUCH I WAS PAID........those who have a different opinion are not being allowed to breathe ...I have a different opinion and not controlled by general opinion...i am not a kid for any of you to try to force me into taking sides...GTFOH

  2. Stella God bless you. That was what I said yesterday. They should not be afraid to honour police invitation for questioning. I believe this will fast track the whole thing. I can't wait for justice to be serve. We must get to the end of this 21century brouhaha.

    1. Why are they afraid of going to the police station? Abeg it's a police case and not a social media case. If you can't stand the heat, don't go close to the kitchen.

    2. You talk like you don't live in Nigeria. Invitation to Abuja just like that. Someone that has kids? Just leave with police to Abuja just like that.
The time police invited someone I know. They didn't let her go until like 2am and she had been there since afternoon. This had to do with a loan she approved at her job that became fraudulent. They will leave you purposely for hours and hours and not say a word to you. Just to demoralize you. All sorts of tactics to put fear in you. Even her family were worried.
So they want Busola to just leave her kids and follow them to Abuja like that.

    3. The mode of invitation is the ish they have. You don't storm my house with arms to just bring a letter.

    4. You guys talk like you don't live in Nigeria. Invitation and they brought an unofficial bus with guns. Is that how it is done? He should jump in and head to Abuja like that? To invite someone you drop a letter and leave, give him a date to appear.
It was because the first lady intervened and some other big shots that's why this guy released a statement. I pray none of you are ever a victim of this. I know someone who was forced into a bus by so called police, before his parents found him it of took the intervention of a high ranking military man, and yes they said they were inviting him to write a statement.

    5. God bless you Swag Lafresh, inviting someone with arms when they are not criminals. Suddenly the complainant is now been hunted by Nigeria police to silenced them.

  3. now that what is clear stella? u act like Nigeria isnt a place where the police is used as a tool of oppression, they filed a report first nd it wasnt honoured but were able to answer fatoyinbo nd attempt to drag the dakolos to abuja with armed men in their house ontop invitation..Its not far to know ur stand on this matter

    1. I am telling you @ Beezee. Why didn’t they visit Fatoyinbo with armed policemen?
What kind of invitation is that? That was clearly an intimidation.
And to all of you claiming that Timi is scared of answering questions, he is not. The video I saw showed a bus with armed police men, it was NOT a police vehicle. They could have had ulterior motive. Timi did the right thing by raising alarm first on social media. Who knows? what if Timi’s alarm was what stopped them from going further?

    2. My dear, what kind of invitation comes with armed men, in an unmarked vehicle with all the glasses tinted. To crown it all, the men were not in any uniform!

  4. Why go with heavily armed men just to drop an invite !! Nigerian police don try shit this time around else una go hear am hot hot.

Why did they go with a bus instead of the police vehicles we all know?
This their explanation is stinking. 🙄🙄

    3. @ Anon 12:14, even if it’s one gun, it’s bad enough. What was the purpose?

    4. 13:56 ask 12:14 again! What was the purpose?
12:14 put yourself in Dakolos' shoes. Will you go even if it's one police officer with a gun?

Stella please, calm down. You've been long gone to know what ordinary Nigerian civilians face from the police. Thank God for the First Lady, Abike Dabiri, Oshiomole Segun A. and other Nigerians who intervened and spoke up.
We need to promote a sane society where the helpless are not intimidated by the well-connected or the influential.
May justice prevail and not be delayed or denied.

  5. This statement from the police is face saving!! Niw that they are caught in the act of trying to muscle Timi and his wife bcos of Biodun Fatoyinbo. Now that First Lady has issued a statement. They recoil in shame. Abuja IS NOT the place to invite them to. Lagos is where the report was made!

    3. Anon 12:15, are you okay? In an organized country, you don't know investigation goes before sueing? Do EFCC charge one to court then come back and start doing investigation? Or have you seen police charge one to court immediately he is being arrested and then after come back to investigate his crime when the case is already in court. What will they tell the court are their findings?

Investigation goes before sueing. It's at the court the police and plaintiff will disclose the case and exhibit gotten through investigation.

Don't you think I know what I am saying?

    4. Teejay, who took which case to court? Where do you even get your info from?

    5. Who did us this thing? First Lady that refuse to speak about Leah shauibu that’s been held captives and have been Raoed countless times. Same First Lady Never stood up against the Omsk that raped 5 years old. But she is strongly helping you bring down a pastor. If she wants to support Rape victims! She should support All because all lives matter not just celebrity’s wife.

      Delete
    6. So for you Biodun should not be touched because he is a pastor and first lady shouldn't stand up for Busola because she is a Muslim and Busola is a Christian being assisted to pull down your drown pastor. 👍

      Delete
    7. Anony 15:17, you did yourself.
Whatever office or title anyone bears in Christianity, Islam or any religion does not give immunity against the law in case of criminal accusation.
Your Pastor should have simply sued for defamation of character or spoken up to be investigated if he is sure he has not raped or sexually molested Busola or any other female.

If he is innocent, God will vindicate and uplift him.

However if he is guilty but using the office/title of a Pastor and claims to Christianity to cover up as well as use the money he got from offerings/tithes/seeds to 'buy' justice, God will contend with him in a way that the world will see and tremble in fear.

    3. What has the protest in Abuja got to do with it? So if people had protested in Ghana, they would have taken the investigation to Ghana?

  8. This is no longer a police case because there is nothing to investigate except taking statements of witnesses.

Biodun should go to court and stop harassing the Dakolo's with police. Let all parties meet in court, present their case and let the judge give his verdict.

Useless Nigerian police with no integrity. Thank God the first lady is following this matter. If somebody accused me wrongly with such magnitude of crime, my lawyers would have contacted the person instead of running to the police. Biodun, go to court if you are innocent, do things the right way or else bury your head in shame.

    The world is watching!!!

    1. Exactly what I said above and those two anonymous thought I am dumb. Police coming in now may jeopardize or truncate justice or even slow the case. The police should have acted first by investigating before the matter taken to court. The police coming in now makes it look like they have an interest.

  13. Honour what invitation? if they know what is good for them they should stay where they are. If you wanna ask me questions you are very welcomed to ask me in my house but for me to follow you all the way to Abuja aint gonna work. The only time things like this are done is when you are viewed as a suspect and not otherwise plus Stella why do you act like you don't know the Nigerian police? being in another country for too long shouldn't disrupt your memory as to how incompetent and money driven these set of people are. If Aisha Buhari hadn't said anything, this response wouldn't have come out and force would have been used. The dakolos if for anything listen to your lawyers.

One more thing, the so called first lady should face front and mind her business. Imagine trying to use her power to influence justice while she's no where to be seen in more critical matters affecting the zoo called Nigeria.

  19. And didn't the Dankolos organise a mob to go chase the pastor from his church by serving out jungle justice?. They made themselves both the plaintiffs and then the judge of their own case. So why cry at the sight of just a gun. What's good for the goose should likewise be good for the gander.

  21. Hi Stella, on behalf of every loyal and ardent BVs out there, please we need answers to these questions so we can truly know the type of woman we come to her blog to read, laugh, follow and look up to.

I won’t throw accusations at you but politely ask these questions:

    1. Where you threatened to tactfully sit on the fence?

    2. Where you threatened to silence at some point?

    3. Where you given money to support Biodun Fatoyinbo?

There is a lot of debate and worry going on behind the scenes concerning your credibility, please BVs need answers to this questions.

Thanks. May posterity not judge us.

Look here, the earlier you know not everyone will have the same opinion as you, the better for your sanity.
And one more thing, be more exposed/broad minded in your thinking, which is to say; stop attaching money to someone thinking differently from you.
Lastly, since you believe some of us have being bought for having different views, I wonder if that's your truth you are speaking here ie. you are projecting how money can make you do and undo stuff.

  22. I don't understand how we think in this country, educated lots especially.

How do you expect police men dressed in their uniforms not to move without their rifles, they can be attacked and if they are attacked how do they defend themselves?

Another issue is having a different opinion from everyone, people see you as an evil being, Biko Stella do you and rest, people will talk. You should be used to it by now
