Need you to save me a spot, next to you and the Lord
I don't know when I'm coming but keep checking the door

  6. "Prayer III" DMX

    Let us pray
Lord Jesus it is you who wakes me up every day
And I am forever grateful for your love, this is why I pray
You let me touch so many people, and it's all for the good
I influenced so many children, I never thought that I would
And I couldn't take credit for the love they get
Because it all comes from you Lord; I'm just the one that's givin' it
And when it seems like the pressure gets to be too much
I take time out and pray, and ask that you be my crutch
Lord I am not perfect by a longshot, I confess to you daily
But I work harder everyday, and I hope that you hear me
In my heart I mean well, but if you'll help me to grow
Then what I have in my heart, will begin to show
And when I get goin', I'm not lookin' back for nothin'
'Cause I will know where I'm headed, and I'm so tired of the sufferin'
I stand before you, a weakened version of your reflection
Beggin' for direction, for my soul needs resurrection
I don't deserve what you've given me, but you never took it from me
Because I am grateful, and I use it, and I do not worship money
If what you want from me is to bring your children to you
My regret is only havin' one life to do it, instead of two
    Amen

    RIP Legend

    2. Everyone has got a demon.
BTW, methinks there's a foul play here. Maybe too much of "Whodunnit" shows is messing with my head, but it's possible that someone might have OD'ed DMX. I mean drugs is his vice right?? So sad.

    3. Hmmm money isn't everything, you can be rich and miserable, contentment comes from God .

    4. It's easy to say this anon, but addiction has such a strong hold. That's why a lot of peeps go right back in. All we pray for is grace

  9. Addiction is one of the worst demons to fight. DMX was desperate to break out of his addiction, but it never happened. Imagine being introduced to drugs at age 14. His death is a sad one.

  10. I remember watching an episode of “Iyanla: Fix my life” it was so sad to watch. DMX was far gone in his addiction. Those demons chased him to his death.

    1. I watched it too. It seemed part of his soul really longed for connection with his son. He just needed to apologize for being a poor husband and distant father but he was almost vibrating, evidently high on something and had these walls up. Iyanla's energy was not the best that day either, I think they were too desperate to do TV instead of be neutral with him. I hope he and his 15 children patched things up a bit before his passing but with his death, they will have a bit more understanding and by God's grace, more forgiveness. DMX's family failed him and he just never got over the unholy exposures of his childhood. Unfortunately, the innocent children are born to a broken man who has not acquired the tools to mold young minds properly. The kind of women who sleep with men like this are also of the same kind as he is: damaged and desperate souls. This is what is called a generational curse is- a burden that blankets over blessings, making those blessings a curse- not what Nollywood portrays. I hope the children will individually dexod what the cycle ends with X and would do all it takes to change their family tree.

Those of us whose parents denied themselves and won their demons so we can have a taste of normal don't know whow blessed we are.

    1. You read right. Very sad. He just lived without vision, the way his father did.

In Jay z's last album, I remember him saying his father first died of nigger failure before liver failure. I see what he means. I wish X had the kind of wisdom jay z had to study the rich and try to live like them. Many people knocked his last album because it was "too white" because it revealed the process of building personal and generational wealth instead of the usual bitches and booze rhymes but look at X and the very many examples of Africans and black Americans who hit money and money hits them back with even more poverty and pain than they had in the beginning. The percentage is definitely lower in other cultures.

One has to personally realize that poverty is not part of being black so that money that comes to you ends up being an obedient servant, not a slave driver.
