On this day, 6 Years ago, my life changed forever! A little close to midnight, the doctor handed over a tiny baby boy to me, and thus began my adventure into the world of Fatherhood!
ReplyDelete6 years down the line, it's been a helluva ride! I have become a far better man, and embraced the highs and lows of being a father.
I am grateful for the honor of having his kid as my first. He's the perfect example for his younger sister. And just the way he cares for his mum and sister, is a huge reassurance for me, that even in my absence, this boy will hold the unit together, and do so incredibly!

Few things in life cause more stress than unresolved conflict. It will elevate your blood pressure and consume your thoughts until you resolve it, so if you're wise, you'll deal with it right away. Not all people feel this way. Even though Jesus commanded us to deal with it, many Christians refrain from saying anything for the sake of peace. Not so. Unresolved conflict will affect your peace of mind, your productivity and your attitude towards others, so it must be dealt with. Additionally, the problem with refusing to face an issue is that it will probably occur again.
According to an interpersonal communications adviser, do these three things:
(1) 'Ask God to give you his words to say so that his purpose will be achieved. "My word...will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it" (Isaiah 55:11 NIV).
(2) Empty your emotions out to God before engaging the offender. Emotions tend to get in the way of facts and can hinder objective thinking. This isn't as hard as it may sound once you decide you're going to make every effort to settle the issue in a harmonious way. "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone" (Romans 12:18 NIV).
(3) Be clear as to what you perceive the problem to be. Avoid vague arguments that leave room for misinterpretation. For example, "You need to do better" does not really clarify the problem.'
If your goal is to heal the relationship, God will work with you.

Bimbo Ademoye now takes any and every role! If she’s not careful, she will just start tainting her brand. Like, I watch some movies because she’s in them and for the life of me can’t understand why she would be in such movie. Two of such movies, I couldn’t even finish because what was she doing in the movie ‘two can play the saint’.
ReplyDeleteThere’s also one Ruth Kadiri’s girl that I totally hate her acting. I don’t know her name but she’s in the movie that Timini acted as a prince (a role that also didn’t fit him at all).
Fidel, I watched ‘played’ and I actually liked the movie but Sonia should not have acted like a local Yoruba woman at all. The accent was forced and her Yoruba was horrible!
Eka, I understand your point of view. I think some of these actors fear being stereotyped about taking up a particular role all the time in movies, so they try to be versatile with roles. After all, they say the benchmark for a good actor is being able to take up different roles whilst bringing the characters to life. But then, they forget that naturally, there is always a limit to these things, because no matter how much they try to showcase that talent of versatility, some roles doesn't just fit.
DeleteFor example, there was a movie I watched where Pa Pete Edochie acted as a poor man, for the time he portrayed that role in the movie, his persona didn't match, he didn't just suit the narrative, thankfully he transitioned to being a rich man in the film later on. I'll say the script writer was wise to put in that twist.
It's just like making Jim Iyke or Zubby to take up a pastor role in a movie. It's not like they won't be able to pull off the role, but their persona won't just fit.
I think people should just stick to their role expertise, there's no need to prove that you can act "anything" and every role; if that makes sense.
