Liberian President Joseph Boakai’s Command of English is so good that US President Donald Trump commended him for his fluent command of English during a diplomatic event in Washington.
Donald Trump: Thank you, such good English. Where did you learn to speak so beautifully? Where were you educated. In Liberia?
Liberia president: Yes sir
Donald Trump: that's very interesting. Beautiful English. some on this table can't speak nearly as well.
Liberia president: Yes sir
Donald Trump: that's very interesting. Beautiful English. some on this table can't speak nearly as well.
Lmao. I also love men that speak and write good English. Thank God for giving me one ๐๐
ReplyDeleteThe Liberian president replying "yes sir" is cringe though, that comment from DT was not a compliment.
To say that trump is dumb will be an insult to dumb people everywhere. It is not just that he is lazy, it is that he can't bother to acquire and keep knowledge provided him. I mean, you are hosting people, your state department would have provided you with every background information you needed about your guests. But no, his laziness and sparkling racism must win over. An utter embarrassment of a man.
ReplyDeleteStop hating on trump. He was merely admiring the English, he also said some of his men in the room cannot speak well like that.
DeleteUSA people do not travel out of US. Liberia is a country created by slaves who ran away from slave camps in American soil.
They were sailing until they found an empty land by the Atlantic Ocean after Ghana.
It is the Republic of Liberation. That was the original name.
Their only language is American English plus three other native tongues. They are lazy like US people too and are quite comfortable being broke.
He's begging America to come explore their gold and many natural resources, what error.
The liberians can do it on their own if they reject laziness.
12:32, Why would a president of an English speaking country not be able to speak excellent English. The average Nigerian primary school pupil would run rings around Trump and his entire tribe. Because it’s Africa doesn’t mean they are beneath anyone else. Average Africans out here speaking four languages on any given day, who is Trump to compliment anyone. Mtsscchhwww
DeleteWhich English is Buhari and Tinubu speaking?
DeleteTrump was happy hearing sweet English.
He didn't hide his emotions.
USA presidential team are the ones to get angry that Trump let them down
I love what Trump did.
Liberian president has done an interview explaining what happened. ✅
DeleteTrump na bad guy.
Useless Donald Trump despite being born in America can not speak coherectly olodo rabata somebody. If not because he is white, he would be languishing in jail by now. Anuofia
ReplyDeleteNa so them rate Africans na.
ReplyDeleteAlways asking you speak good English, like say English is the language that would carry one to paradise.
But Liberia is even an English speaking country, it’s not like the man is from Cape Verde or Chad. Why would someone holding the top seat in an English speaking country not speak excellent English. This is an insult with icing to make it look like a compliment.

DeleteExcellent English how? Why are all the Liberian neighbors I had while growing up not speaking excellent English? If someone sees this your comment bot they'll think you know exactly what you are saying
Indirectly shading Africans, is English language an African language to begin with?
ReplyDeleteThat was a condescending remark from Trump, like a subtle shade to Africans.
ReplyDeleteGlad you saw through the bullshyt.
DeleteAnd the president is saying "Yes sir" as if Trump is complimenting him
DeleteMy woman, oil dey your head! A backhanded compliment at the peak.
DeleteTrump said some of his men on the table with him can't speak good English like that.
DeleteHe said it smiling happily.
Watch the video.
That's if you have data.
I think he was just complementing him
ReplyDeleteLoud ๐ข๐ข

ReplyDeleteIf you have read any of Trumps book, you will have a glimpse of his thought process
That’s a back handed compliment to rile him up

How some people misinterpreted this harmless compliment though. You people read unnecessary meaning in a person's harmless comment all the time. That's why I no longer care what people say when I say what I say because in the end people will interpret what ever their brain helped them to understand.
ReplyDeleteThank you @Slim Shaddy.
DeleteWe often misjudge people"s intentions , because many of us live in poor environments where life is interpreted through the lens of competition and perception.
Most Americans THAT I KNOW don't sugarcoat their feelings about people; they either avoid you or tell you what they think about you.
Two Caucasian families wanted to adopt me in America and what they said about Africans sounded like insults to me until I was privileged to mingle and learn their thoughts process.
Africa is painted to them as a jungle where only the kings are wealthy but uneducated and the masses are malnourished, so many Americans are shocked when they meet with educated and enlightened black Africans who are not from a royal family.
