Singer Niniola Says She Will Never Forget Witnessing Her Dad Being Unalifed..

Nigerian singer, Niniola, has said the trauma of watching her father, Simeon Apata, a retired Nigerian Army Brigadier-General, being assassinated is an experience she can never get over.

Gen. Apata (rtd.) was assassinated by gunmen on January 8, 1995, in Lagos, in the presence of his family.

‎Revisiting the tragic incident in a recent interview with Jay On Air, Niniola said it is hard for her to get over it because she was her late father’s favourite child.
‎“I was in the house when my dad was murdered. And I was his favourite child so you can imagine [the trauma]. Till today, I’m not over it. I can never get over it
‎I was very young when it happened. I don’t remember my exact age then but it wasn’t a good memory.”
‎Niniola’s sister, Teni, who is also a singer, disclosed in 2023 that watching her dad being assassinated at the tender age of two left her traumatised.

  2. That statement 'i was my dad's favorite child ' irks me so so much. That's how sibling rivalry starts.

    2. Coming from someone from a polygamous family.

    3. @Pretty trick, thank you for this comment. And she saying she do not know the age she was when her father died, Like seriously??! Why is mathematics difficult for some people? Don't you know the year your father died? And besides, hers and Teni's tale seems to be different.
Lastly, there's no way you would be your father's favorite, where there's a younger Teni!

    4. "Coming from someone from a polygamous family."

Even if made by a child from a monogamous family, it is still a wrong statement or claim to make.

And contrary to popular belief (especially on this blog) polygamy does not make bad worse or create the worse on its own. Isaac and Rebecca in the Bible. Wife divinely chosen by God for Isaac. Love at first sight. Monogamous family till de@th. Right? How did it go between husband and wife on their two sons, and how did it go between their two sons? Monogamously well by SDK Bvs United Against Polygamy's standards. Right?
