The minister, at some point, was angered by the questions that were put out to him by one of the show’s anchors, Rufai Oseni, who also accused him (Umahi) of having reported him (Oseni) to President Bola Tinubu over his views on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road.
The former Ebonyi State governor said he is a professor in the field of engineering to the dismay of Rufai, who demanded to know the year the minister became a professor.
Umahi, who explained that he did not obtain professorship from any school but from his experience in the engineering field, added, “Keep quiet and stop saying what you don’t know. I’m a professor in this field. You don’t understand anything.”
“You are too small for me to report the President. Stop saying I reported you to the President, you’re too small,” Umahi added after Rufai had repeatedly accused him of reporting him to the President.
“I understand engineering very well. You have no knowledge of what you ask. You have no knowledge of what you’re asking.”
“Minister, it’s it’s alright, keep dignifying yourself, and let the world know who you truly are,” Rufai responded.
Still repeating the questions, Rufai asked the minister to explain the cost of the project both old and new, what has been spent out of the loan for the road and the conditions of the loan to which Umahi after freezing for a minute responded "I am not hearing you"

I watched that video and Rufai was very very rude and one kind acting like it was personal......
I also watched it, he Rufai wasn't rude. His questions were straight to the point and clear, the minister couldn't give account. Nothing personal
ReplyDeleteRufai was very rude and uncouth. I understand his passion but he lacks professionalism.
ReplyDeleteMinister Umahi needs to take a course in public speaking. 🙄🙄🙄
ReplyDeleteRufai needs several courses from journalism to business etiquette and everything in between.
DeleteThey should take it easy
ReplyDeleteLearn to answer with facts and not emotions.
Nigerian men are ego and emotionally dysregulated and erratic creatures
DeleteWhat about Nigerian women? Everything is always about Nigerian men, why are some of you very toxic?
DeleteMy first time of hearing "professor in practice".
ReplyDeleteThe most unprofessional on-air personality is Rufai.
ReplyDeleteHe has every right to support Peter Obi but he needs to be very professional and courteous to Arise TV invited guests, the station is not his personal blog.
How come out of over 10presenters in the station, he is the only person who keeps having altercation with guests.
There are certainly better experienced journalists in that station.
Seun Okinbaloye of Channels has never had such issue with any guests.
His supporters (fellow obidients) are the ones who keep approving and hailing his unprofessional conduct, i wish him a good future on the job
Well done Rufai, this country no normal, our journalists no suppose normal
ReplyDeleteThis 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
DeleteRufai is rude abi? this impoverishment go soon touch everybody. Y'all should keep defending the politicians to death. Not even a single comment about the questions the minister was asked and how he went confrontational? when the politicians improvish you, they do it without battling an eyelid, when a journo asks a question, you hungry imbeciles jumps in defence of the politicians. Stockholm syndrome at its peak

ReplyDeleteRufai wasn't rude based on what I watched this morning. Our public office holffer hate to answer simple questions, about how they are spending money or running public institutions
