President Tinubu Grants Presidential Clemency To Maryam Sanda Sentenced To Death For Killing Her Husband

Maryam Sanda, aged 37,  was sentenced to death in 2020 for culpable homicide and had spent six years, eight months at Suleja Medium Security Custodial Centre. Her family pleaded for her release, arguing that it was in the best interest of her two children.
The plea was also anchored on her good conduct in jail, her remorse, and her embracement of a new lifestyle, demonstrating her commitment to being a model prisoner.

  1. No way no!!! O wrong now,He should have converted it to life instead.
Then he should as well free all the husband/wife/girlfriend/boyfriend killers based on their good conduct and children needing the killer parent.

  3. Kai, I feel really bad for that poor man's family. She deserves to rot in that jail. I am very very irritated by this update.
They had to reason whatsoever to grant her pardon.
Wether in or out, she must surely pay for what she did to that man.
Her family are all smiles right now forgetting that another family will be thrown into mourning all over again. Una nor just try at all.

    3. Show us the proof, without proof it is a lie. The world does not operate on beer parlour talk but on proof and facts.

Its amazing how beer parlour talk has been so glorified that supposedly reasonable people will believe any claim that does not follow any logic

    6. If government wants to produce falsified records that she was in Suleja prison, they can. What proof can you produce to show her mama used her money to fly Maryam outside before pardon came.

  12. Of all the people that were granted clemency by the President, I don't know the reason why my heart is screaming NOOOOOO to this particular Maryam Sanda, maybe because I read their toxic love story from A to Z, and how she brutally stabbed him until he gave up.
This is not fair to the man's family, are they telling us that anybody is free to unalive their partner or spouse based on one excuse or another, and if sentenced to jail or death, they will later be free if they show good conduct or feel remorse.
They know what they were doing from the beginning when the death sentence was delivered, that's how a late governor also granted clemency to one particular Yetunde that killed her husband because of cheating in Ibadan after serving seven years in prison, her father also had high rank in police force, they should continue.

  14. This is why I like South Korea, China & those “stiff” Islamic countries. Once u are sentenced to death, no wasting of time, b4 u hear appeal, d culprit don go be that. Why wait endlessly to carry out d needful for someone that intentionally killed another?

  15. Good. Now let's end state sanctioned executions. So barbaric

  16. Of all the problems we are facing in this country, na to grant clemency to murderers be our president interest.
