The homes were delivered under her Dignity Homes Initiative, a project designed to restore hope, stability, and dignity to widows who have struggled for years without support.
Each of Abia’s 17 Local Government Areas received two fully completed houses, all furnished and ready for immediate occupation.
Speaking during the handover ceremony in Umuahia North, Mrs Otti said the initiative goes beyond providing shelter and is about giving forgotten women a fresh start.
She emphasized that many widows had endured hardship, homelessness, and emotional pain, and deserved to be seen, supported, and uplifted.
She called on well‑meaning individuals, religious institutions, and organisations to join hands with the government in caring for the less privileged, stressing that society becomes stronger when the vulnerable are protected.
The beneficiaries, overwhelmed with emotion, described the gesture as a miracle they never expected.
