Yusuf, son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has expressed satisfaction with the outcome of Saturday’s House of Representatives primary election of the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying he secured a landslide victory. Yusuf Buhari secured 17,342 votes to defeat Auwalu Musa Daura, who polled 480 votes.

Jonathan Ukodhiko and other aspirants have emerged winners of the All Progressives Congress House of Representatives primary elections held across Delta State ahead of the 2027 general elections. At the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency primary, Elumelu secured the APC ticket.

The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Professor Julius Ihonvbere has lost his bid to return to the Green Chamber after losing out in the All Progressives Congress, APC, House of Representatives primary election for the Owan Federal Constituency. The Returning Officer, Kelvin Muhammed announced that Hon Andrew Ijegbai a former Commissioner for Mining won the election scoring 3695.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were absent from the Surulere Constituency 11 House of Representatives primary election held on Saturday. A former Coker-Aguda Local Government Chairman, Quodir Onikeku, who is also a former House of Representatives aspirant, disclosed this in an interview with NAN in Lagos.

Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the death of 17 police officers following a terrorist attack on the Nigerian Army Special Forces School in Buni Yadi, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State. It was gathered that the officers were undergoing special operational training when the attackers struck the facility in the early hours of May 8, in what authorities described as a coordinated assault.

The Police Command in Lagos State has apprehended 10 suspects over the violence that erupted at the All Progressives Congress primaries election at Egbe in the Alimosho area of the state. The incident, which occurred on Onilewura Street, Liasu Road, on Saturday, caused panic among party members and residents as hoodlums stormed the venue ,shooting sporadically.

Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Dr Benjamin Kalu, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress candidate for Bende Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 General Elections. Kalu was elected unopposed during Saturday’s primary election of the party in Bende.

Three aspirants of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who were anointed as consensus candidates by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State for House of Representatives seats have been disqualified by the party.
The three aspirants endorsed by Aiyedatiwa, who have been screened out, were identified as Tajudeen Adefisoye (Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency), Victor Ategbole (Akoko South-East/South-West federal constituency) and Samuel Arowele (Owo/Ose federal constituency).
Others not cleared along with the governor’s preferred aspirants are Seun Ajongbolo (Akoko South-East/South-West federal constituency), Morufu Ibrahim, Oyeniyi Oseni ((Akoko North-East/North-West) and Olaleye Adedipe (Akoko North-East/North-West).
With the reasons for the disqualification of the aspirants not revealed in a statement issued on Saturday by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka, some aspirants in the state have kicked and condemned the endorsement of the anointed aspirants.
