Justice James Omotosho delivered the judgment on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, finding Mamman guilty on all 12 counts filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The sentences will run consecutively, bringing the total to 75 years.
The funds , about ₦33.8 billion were allocated for hydroelectric power projects, including Mambilla and Zungeru, but were instead diverted through a network of officials and private companies.
Mamman was absent during sentencing, prompting the judge to issue a warrant for his immediate arrest. Security agencies and Interpol have been directed to track him down.
The court also ordered the forfeiture of properties and foreign currencies linked to the fraud. Mamman served as Minister of Power under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
