God recognised our need for companionship when he said, '"It is not good for the man to be alone"...Then...God made a woman...and he brought her to the man' (Genesis 2:18, 22 NIV). Most of us are social beings who are at our best around others. We garner energy and support from them. But there are those who feel a sense of shame over admitting their loneliness. They long for people to share their lives with but feel they must pretend they don't need anyone. You should not feel shame for wanting love and social connection. Admitting your desire to be loved and taking a step towards involvement requires courage. Accepting that you are a person who needs to connect is healthy.
But problems arise when your need for companionship controls you. When you compromise your values in order to be accepted, the results are always negative. Clinging to other people without understanding who they are or what they represent is unhealthy. And the ramifications can have not only lifelong effects but sometimes also life-threatening consequences.
Wise decisions about relationships are never to be made with a mind ruled by fear of loneliness or desperation. If that's where you are, being single is a better alternative right now. It need only be temporary. So do these three things: (1) Ask God to guide you: 'God sets the lonely in families' (Psalm 68:6 NIV). (2) Live by the values you'd want your loved one to hold as well. (3) Start with what you have to give and share with others, rather than with your unmet needs.

ReplyDeleteLearn to live life way more below your income..eat well,non negotiable..but learn to differentiate between NEEDS and WANT.
Needs-These are things you can’t do without..Food,accommodation,basic clothing,health bills etc.
Wants- Things you can live life without,You would still stay alive if you don’t get these..Asoebi,latest shoes,latest phones,human hair,alcohol etc.
Have two bank accounts;when your salary comes in for example,divide into two..
One for SAVINGS,then another for EXPENSES.
The bank with savings account shouldn’t have an atm card or USSD code activated,only sms alert to confirm when money comes or bank charges debited..
Regarding the SAVINGS,Except it’s a life and death issue;just allow the savings be and grow..Comot eye there!!
Then the second account is where you can flex your life as you wish,also for daily,weekly and monthly expenses,and when it’s exhausted;wait for your next paycheck and tell yourself “I don’t have money again oooo” until further notice.
Now back to that savings account;fix it into money market once you send money there every month,so interest can compound yearly.
Needs and want;learn the difference(I’m repeating it I know😊)..
You must not sew or buy new clothes for outing every month,you must not travel when you aren’t buoyant,you must not go to club to exhaust yourself with alcohol and God knows what,you also must not buy the latest phones or wear the latest trend;you can always manage what you have,until you are financially stable to take an adventure or fuel your “wants” without feeling like you spent money..
Buy food,Shelter and health;always give these priority,cook good meals at home and keep in your freezer;it’s healthy for you plus you end up spending less compared to any restaurant price..
Some days you would be forced to touch your savings;it’s normal,but just subconsciously remember why you started the savings journey,and also tell yourself that if it ever finishes;the person you are thinking of borrowing from also has his/her own personal or family problems,and many can’t use their emergency life savings to solve your own life emergency;except God comes through for you through an Angel in human form.
You would call yourself “Stingy”,others may even tag you as that;but just know good things of life no dey ever finish;and the last person to build a house,built the “latest model”.

Some will say bad home training. Yes, I won't antagonize that fact but at the same time, we need to understand what we call "Nature vs Nurture Controversy". So many campus students that are trained well but environment (remote and immediate) has over-ride their home training due to peer pressure.
My people will say, "if they train you for house, you too must train yourself".
So so speechless and dumbfounded seeing our youth killing themselves anyhow
