In a recent interview with Broadway TV, the 59 year old actress said it’s a man’s responsibility to ensure his partner looks good and feels valued. “A woman should be your pride. She doesn’t even need to ask you,” she said, adding that men who can’t afford to care for a woman should either date within their means or wait until they’re financially ready.
She questioned why men use the term “gold digger” in the first place. “What do you expect her to dig? Shit? I won’t advise any woman to dig anything less than gold,” she stated. She stressed that she wouldn’t encourage any woman to settle for less in a relationship and believes financial responsibility is part of being a good partner.

This her interview got men on social media going crazy. The ones who make hate posts on women are having a field day
ReplyDeleteThose ones must be weeping by now as their mentor Gehgeh just got married to a woman
DeleteWhere has all the gold that she dug all these years led her to? After having several marriages and having kids for different men!!! Loneliness will show her shege banza and she will be paying young boys to dig her hole. Yeye dey smell.
Delete"men who can’t afford to care for a woman should either date within their means or wait until they’re financially ready."
ReplyDeleteGold digger, what do you expect her to dig sef mtceew🙂
Let me mind my business..
ReplyDeleteThank you o Aunty Bukky. A man cannot afford a certain woman's style, and then she is labeled a gold digger. Go for your type.

DeleteThe issue is that men who say that are often very delusional, covetous, and don't even have any gold for women to dig.
ReplyDeleteI remember many years ago, I went to a wedding and met a guy. I think he was from the bride's side of the family. We lived in different neighborhoods. He pursued me for years, but I kept refusing because I preferred to date people who were in the same financial standing as me.
After some time, I said yes, thinking that after all, we are all equal in the sight of God. But you wouldn't believe it, this guy was the most delusional person I had ever met.
After just two weeks of dating, he started talking about marriage. I was in my third year so I refused. He then said he earned 65k and that it was more than enough for both of us.
I told him that amount wasn't even enough for me alone. What would I use it for, buy perfume or eat one dinner at a restaurant inside my school?
He started saying that his friends and their wives were managing on that income while raising three children. I asked him, "Then why didn't you date and marry the kind of women your friends are married to?" He kept quiet.
I was a student at a very expensive private university, and I knew how much allowance I received. He didn't even have a washing machine. I asked him, "If I agreed to marry you, who would wash the clothes?" He replied, "My wife." I laughed and said, "I don't even wash clothes."
If I didn't look the way I did, you wouldn't have approached or even noticed I existed. And I look the way I did, thanks to the grace of God and money. So in the end, it's the money that you smelt on me that attracted you. So who is the golddigger?
He ignored the women in his neighborhood and his friends' wife's friends, chasing me for three years.
The truth is, almost every man can find a girlfriend. A mechanic, a plumber, a shoemaker, or even a security guard can find a woman. So when I see a man complaining that a woman is "too expensive," I usually conclude that he's the greedy one, aiming far above his own financial range while calling women greedy. They don't know how pathetic they sound when they say that.
Many women are very broke and come from poor homes but want a man who is a billionaire, when a man who is far more richer than her complains of her steady billing, is he still the greedy one aiming far about his own financial rage? Mtchew
DeleteThe girls you spoke about may be broke, but you have yourself to blame when you approach ladies whose looks, aesthetics and lifestyle do not match their level of financial lack. So, you are still greedy.
DeleteWhen you meet a broke lady who has never-ending demands due to her expensive tastes and you choose to pursue her anyway because you're attracted to that image, don't later complain that she is a gold digger. You had other options. If you approach a lady who looks like a luxury car yet has no job, then you don't act shocked when she hands you the fuel bill.
Men go for aesthetic and 'aesthetic greed' is still greed. Because it costs money to be aesthetically pleasing. So you are indirectly attracted to the money spent.
Men are providers.. if he is willing to foot her then he shld or rather find a billonaire like him
DeleteIf you cannot afford a women, date your class. There is no crime in it. Some men just want women that are above their class. When they see the one that is their class, they will say she is not classy, then do what it takes to have a classy lady.
ReplyDeleteNigeria men always calling women olosho, when they cannot defend the situation. She only said date when your ready, capable of taking care of a woman or date a women that is your class financially, its not enough to call her olosho.
A woman that is financially capable can support her man too. These days it looks like men no longer want to keep up with their responsibility, they are all looking for a women that will be suffering with them. Date your class all will be well, its as simple as that.
If you see a lady that buys human hair for 3 million, you want to date her, why not look for the one that makes simbi is a girl school hair or dresses like a deeper lifer, they are easy to maintain as girl friends then as a wife, you will say no, why? She is not classy.. Again dare your class. Life is simple.
Different stroke for different folks. Never believed in this Idea of waiting for a Man to take care of ... If it comes fine that's a plus, if not life goes on .
