AY revealed on Instagram that while blogs were publishing damaging narratives about him, his church which he had considered a family quietly distanced itself.
He recalled that his name was even removed from a church event he had already been invited to, simply because of the public backlash.
To avoid whispered conversations and judgmental stares, AY said he chose to worship online instead.
He questioned why public opinion now seems to outweigh a person’s relationship with God, and stressed that scripture does not instruct people to come only after their reputation has been restored.
“He didn’t say, ‘Come after everyone has accepted your story.’ He didn’t say, ‘Come after your reputation has been repaired,’” AY said
He ended with a pointed question , “Who is the church really for?”

Where is Pastor Chris Okotie? He has been off the radar for some years now.
Some celebrities to go to church anymore for different reasons. They prefer worshipping online.
ReplyDeleteBut when you go to big people and celebrities churches what do you expect? The same month Wigwe died was the same month his pastor's wife threw lavish party. Amongst those people is dogs eat dog mentality as a lot of them are not really for God but for association and leverage.
ReplyDeleteYou brought up some salient points. I forgot the Wigwe saga and how distasteful it was, only to learn he had dumped so much of his own hard earned money in the said church and was quickly forgotten while the alive folks partied on like there was no tomorrow.
DeleteI can't even remember what kind of bad news was trailing AY to the point his church ppl would turn their backs on him. I remember the marriage separation and house fire, but that's all.

The celebration of a birthday party by the pastor's wife within a short period of Wiwge's death was most unfortunate and in bad taste. Would the woman has gone ahead if her husband was Wiwge?
DeleteGo to church because you love Christ and not the pastor. Even Jesus was denied by his right hand man (Peter) when it mattered most. Christianity is a personal journey.

He should change his church then and go somewhere else. His excuse isn't giving. We are to serve God not men.
