AON issued the warning after a meeting in Abuja on September 22, 2026, stressing full support for Air Peace and other member airlines. The group says it will no longer tolerate unlawful interference in airline operations.
This follows the August 11,2026 incident where labour unions blocked access to Air Peace terminals in Lagos and Abuja, accusing airlines of owing workers’ charges and preventing staff from joining unions. AON says the blockade exposed serious airport security lapses and even led to union members attacking airline workers.
The group added that airlines do not benefit from delays or cancellations, noting that most disruptions in Nigeria come from factors outside airline control.
