OAP Gbemi O.O Says She Woke Up To See Her Removed Fibroids In A Jar

OAP Gbemi O.O has shared a surprising moment from her fibroid removal surgery.
Posting on her X handle, she revealed that after the procedure, the medical team placed the removed fibroids in a jar right beside her hospital bed.

She wrote:

“When I had surgery to remove fibroids, they kept them in a jar on the table next to my bed. I asked (jokingly), so what am I supposed to do with this? Fry them or… They said some people prefer to take their fibroids home. To do what please? Pickle them or what?”

  1. Didn't it come from your body? So who do you think owns it? Silly question indeed

    1. It is not a silly question. The hospital keeps it to run tests on it, know whether it is cancerous. Don't display your stupidity if you do not know something.

    3. @ 11.30. They take a pinch for cellular histopathology, not the whole mass. Ode! The fibroid is the patient's like everything thing else they remove from a person's body surgically, from appendix to a baby they take out at CS. You can opt to leave it at the hospital and they are protocols for human body parts disposal. But first and foremost, it's handed to the patient, and rightfully, logically and sensibly, so.

    5. 14:20 what u said up there IS NOT TRUE........
They were not supposed to keep it in a jar by here bedside, they have have taken shots and thrown it away like is done abroad and in some cases, they refuse to let you see what was brought out........I was not allowed to see mine and good riddiance cos i know it would have traumatised me badly..i still imagine but my imagination is better than seeing it.....
THEY HAVE NO RIGHT TO PUT MYOM TAKEN OFF BY HER BEDSIDE; ITS HORRIBLE!!!

    6. It’s not thrown away without your permission. Not true Stella. You are asked to decide if you want it, donate it or have it discarded. They are wrong for keeping it at her bedside yes, but abroad they would never discard without your permission.

  2. "they said some people prefer to take their fibroids home." So you who didn't want to take it home could have quietly left it for them at the hospital and save us the noise. They don't ever have something meaningful to say online until their partners cheat them they start disturbing with epistles

  7. Strangely, when I had my cancer removed I wanted to see it. I was disappointed when they did not show it to me, I even asked about it but got no answer, they probably thought it was the anesthesia talking. I guess they sent it to the lab or med school for research.

My mum even forgot to take a picture of it inside the white plastic
