NAFDAC Seizes ₦200m Worth Of Fake Alcohol Packaging Materials in Aba Market Raid

NAFDAC officers have uncovered and seized counterfeit alcoholic beverage packaging materials worth over ₦200 million at the Old Court Road Market in Aba, Abia State.

The operation, led by the agency’s Investigation and Enforcement Directorate, targeted illegal traders who were stocking fake labels, caps, and bottles used to repackage popular drink brands.

Officials said the raid followed credible intelligence linking the market to large‑scale counterfeiting and public health risks. The seized materials included cartons of branded labels, bottle caps, and shrink wraps meant for fake whisky, wine, and energy drinks.
NAFDAC warned that such counterfeit packaging fuels the spread of unsafe and adulterated drinks, urging Nigerians to buy only from verified sources.

    4. Good to know you do not have an ID. With this your mindset, about a tribe, Nigeria has a long way to go. Few weeks ago, we read here that fake monkey tail killed almost 50 persons in Ondo state. The producers are not from the tribe that is making you sleepless but wicked Nigerians. Wickedness is not a tribe thing. We can do better by rising up together and condemn evil irrespective of where the person comes from.
