People Who Had Contact With Ebola Patient Placed On 21-Day No-Fly List
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has directed aviation authorities to restrict 46 people who came in contact with an Ebola patient from travelling by air for 21 days.
Keyamo disclosed this in a post on his X handle, stating that the affected persons include 44 people who came in contact with the patient at a hospital and two domestic staff. He said efforts were ongoing to isolate the individuals until it is confirmed that they were not infected with the virus. The minister also directed the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to inform local and international airlines about the restriction. He further instructed the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to strengthen Ebola surveillance at international airports through health screenings, temperature checks, travel history tracking and digital health declarations.
