Green Tea And What It Does To Your Health......Please Read This.

Green tea has increasingly become a very popular drink worldwide because of its immensely powerful health benefits. It is extraordinarily amazing what green tea can do for your health. And if you're not drinking three to four cups of green tea today, you're definitely not doing your health a big favor. Here are the 25 reasons why you should start drinking green tea right now:

1. Green tea and cancer: Green tea helps reduce the risk of cancer. The antioxidant in green tea is 100 times more effective than vitamin C and 24 times better than vitamin E. This helps your body at protecting cells from damage believed to be linked to cancer.

2. Green tea and heart disease:
Green tea helps prevent heart disease and stroke by lowering the level of cholesterol. Even after the heart attack it prevents cell deaths and speeds up the recovery of heart cells.

3. Green tea and Anti-aging: Green tea contains an antioxidant known as polyphenols which fight against free radicals. What this means it helps you fight against aging and promotes longevity.

4. Green tea and weight loss: Green tea helps with your body weight loss. Green tea burns fat and boosts your metabolism rate naturally. It can help you burn up to 70 calories in just one day. That translates to 7 pounds in one year.

5. Green tea and skin: The antioxidant in green tea protects the skin from the harmful effects of free radicals, which cause wrinkling and skin aging. Green tea also helps fight against skin cancer.

6. Green tea and arthritis: Green tea can help prevent and reduce the risk of rheumatoid arthritis. Green tea has benefit for your health as it protects the cartilage by blocking the enzyme that destroys cartilage.

7. Green tea and bones: The very key to this is high fluoride content found in green tea. It helps keep your bones strong. If you drink green tea every day, this will help you preserve your bone density.

8. Green tea and cholesterol: Green tea can help lower cholesterol level. It also improves the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol, by reducing bad cholesterol level.

9. Green tea and obesity: Green tea prevents obesity by stopping the movement of glucose in fat cells. If you are on a healthy diet, exercise regularly and drink green tea, it is unlikely you'll be obese.

10. Green tea and diabetes: Green tea improves lipid and glucose metabolism, prevents sharp increases in blood sugar level and balances your metabolism rate.

11. Green tea and Alzheimers: Green tea helps boost your memory. And although there's no cure for Alzheimer's it helps slow the process of reduced acetylcholine in the brain, which leads to Alzheimer's.

12. Green tea and Parkinson's: Antioxidants in green tea helps prevent against cell damage in the brain which could cause Parkinson's. People drinking green tea also are less likely to progress with Parkinson's.

13. Green tea and liver disease: Green tea helps prevent transplant failure in people with liver failure. Researches showed that green tea destroys harmful free radicals in fatty livers.

14. Green tea and high blood pressure: Green tea helps prevent high blood pressure. Drinking green tea helps keep your blood pressure down by repressing angiotensin, which leads to high blood pressure.

15. Green tea and food poisoning: Catechin found in green tea can kill bacteria which causes food poisoning and kills the toxins produced by those bacteria.

16. Green tea and blood sugar: Blood sugar tends to increase with age, but polyphenols and polysaccharides in green tea help lower your blood sugar level.

17. Green tea and immunity: Polyphenols and flavonoids found in green tea help boost your immune system, making your health stronger in fighting against infections.

18. Green tea and cold and flu: Green tea prevents you from getting a cold or flu. Vitamin C in green tea helps you treat the flu and the common cold.

19. Green tea and asthma: Theophyline in green tea relaxes the muscles which support the bronchial tubes, reducing the severity of asthma.
20. Green tea and ear infection: Green tea helps with ear infection problem. For natural ear cleaning soak a cotton ball in green tea and clean the infected ear.

21. Green tea and herpes: Green tea increases the effectiveness of topical interferon treatment of herpes. First green tea compress is applied, and then let the skin dry before the interferon treatment.

22. Green tea and tooth decay:
Green tea destroys bacteria and viruses that cause many dental diseases. It also slows the growth of bacteria which leads to bad breath.

23. Green tea and stress: L-the theanine, which is a kind of amino acids in green tea, can help relieve stress and anxiety.

24. Green tea and allergies:
EGCG found in green tea relieves allergies. So if you have allergies, you should really consider drinking green tea.

25. Green tea and HIV: Scientists in Japan have found that EGCG (Epigallocatechin Gallate) in green tea can stop HIV from binding to healthy immune cells. What this means is that green tea can help stop the HIV virus from spreading......culled

SIDE EFFECTS OF GREEN TEA

More people are helping themselves to a second cup of green tea because of the potential health benefits of this popular drink. The diseases that green tea could benefit continue to grow - although most studies have been done in animals and need more confirmation in humans. Still, if you enjoy the taste you can revel in the fact that you may also be getting health benefits when you sip your morning cup of tea. Despite its healthy reputation, not everyone tolerates green tea well - especially when it's drunk in large amounts. What are the side effects of drinking green tea and is there anything you can do to prevent them?

Side Effects of Drinking Green Tea: Green Tea and Nausea
It's not uncommon for a person drinking green tea to experience nausea and an upset stomach. This is most likely to occur if you drink it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. The culprit seems to be green tea tannins which stimulate the stomach to secrete more acid. This is a particular problem for people who have peptic ulcer disease or acid reflux problems; and for this reason people with these disorders should probably avoid drinking green tea entirely. One way to reduce nausea that occurs from drinking green tea is to drink it only after eating a meal. Adding milk can also prevent nausea, but may inactivate some of the healthy polyphenols.

Side Effects of Drinking Green Tea: The Caffeine Effect
Some people experience heart palpitations and nervousness from the caffeine found in green tea. Although it generally contains less than coffee or black tea, some people are sensitive to even small levels of caffeine. There are two ways to avoid this problem. One is to drink decaffeinated green tea. The other is to buy high quality Japanese green tea such as gyokura. Better quality Japanese green tea contains higher levels of theanine - a compound which has a calming effect on the brain and reduces the stimulating effects of the caffeine.

Side Effects of Drinking Green Tea: Iron Deficiency Anemia
Few people realize that the tannins found in green tea reduce absorption of iron from the intestines. This can lead to iron deficiency anemia in some people. On the other hand, this can be a positive effect for people who have too much iron in their body. To prevent this side effect of drinking green tea, only drink it between meals so it won't block iron absorption from food.

Side Effects of Drinking Green Tea: The Bottom Line?
Green tea isn't for everyone. People who have anxiety problems, heart disease, high blood pressure, or an overactive thyroid should talk to their doctor before drinking it. It can also interact with some medications. Check with your pharmacist before drinking green tea if you're taking any type of prescriptions........culled

*Green tea has its advantages and a little bit of disadvantages..the choice is yours!

    3. Dear breasting mom,
I would recommend Fennel Tea ( it is called Fenchel Tee in German). It is the number one tea recommended for nursing moms and their infant babies here.... Some of its uses include:

      1. Fennel can be made into a syrup to treat babies with colic.

      2. Fennel water constitute the domestic 'gripe water', used to correct the flatulence of infants.

      3. Fennel is a galactagogue which improves the milk supply of a breastfeeding mother.

There is actually Fennel tea in powder form which u mix with warm water for babies from 2 days old and above. This in most cases replaces water for infant babies. There is also Fennel tea in tea bags for nursing moms too. I always used fennel tea for my babies instead of water, they never get to drink water, just Breast milk and fennel tea for the first four months.
There are a lot of other benefits for a nursing mom, you might as well google them.

  28. Green tea does have a lot of beneficial properties, but the big RED FLAG is that most of the green tea in the world is farmed in China. We all know that food from China is not worth it. I would not knowingly consume anything that was grown or manufactured in China. The food is killing their own people, so what would it do to outsiders. If you can grow your own great, otherwise it's better to investigate the various Nigerian herbs and spices that are gown under natural, organic practices.

    4. of course it is okay. they are both sugars
table sugar or sucrose more appropriately is fructose + glucose
      glucose is simple glucose
your body has to break down sucrose to glucose anyway
