Doctors in the house!









HIGH PROLACTIN

 I need advice on the issue of High Prolactin !

 I did not see my period last month and the Doctor I saw prescribed DUPHASTON for me while i am still on the parlodel. Its 5days now that i have taken the DUPHASTON and my period is not out yet.

I Am so reduced in size and my father asking if i am pregnant..... 

Doctors please come to my rescue!

      I wonder when some people would learn.
      That doctor u met that prescribed duphaston must be a mad man! What kinda doc prescribes a drug for secondary amennorhea without running some test to rule out other causes,i'm sure u went to a private hospital,dts where we'v got jack of all trade whereby a dentist specialises in everything,only him o&g,paedo,med,surg all in one mtcheeew.
      Btw in a young female,commonest cause of sec amenorrhoea is TOP,so have u done any in da past?...that's by d way though.
      GO TO A TERTIARY HOSPITAL AND SEE A GYNAECOLOGIST.

      If i may ask,y d heading prolactin? Are u having copious galactorrhea?

      Nways just go see a doctor and stop coming in here to seek for advice,this is not a hospital and NEVER u self medicate

      Stop the duphaston (that is a progesterone medicine) and wait a couple of days, your period would return.

      Do a pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy.

    Am nt a doctor but I tell u little I know abt it. If u ar sure u didn't hav sex then relax is normal blcos homornal changes can cause it. I don't see my period for one month in every year meaning out of 12 months we hav in a year I see it only for 11month in year. As first I was scared but after scan I became cool with except I "straff" so if Dts is ur case chill dear or go for test or scan for ur mind to rest but pls stop taking drugs on assumption is bad. Pls don't mind my English!

      Honestly i don't understand that part but you can still pee on a stick if u have been sexually active to know if u are pregnant or d drug is delaying your period and u can visit d general hospital preferably

    @Poster if you're clean, then relax your mind it will come out.

    I once missed mine but 3-4 days after, it came out but I prayed even went to see a Pastor for prayers because my mind was clean. lol

    experienced the same thing last month,was so confused nd even went for a test to stop my unnecessary worries nd it was negative,was just relaxing yesterday been first nd something was coming down,went to check nd it was it and I felt so relieved

    You are "greatly reduced in size"? Are you trying to say you've lost a lot of weight?
    If so, how does your weight loss mean you're pregnant?

    Anyway, please try to see another gynaecologist and give your history of any drugs taken or tests done previously, truth is no doctor on this blog can say precisely what the problem is without carrying out tests on you. They can only make educated guesses and the info you've given is not even enough for that.

    You didnt even include your age, lots of girls in their late teens still have irregular periods.

    Hmm. I didn't see my period for almost a year, I was in school then so initially I ignored it because i thought it was stress coupled with my weight loss. I wasn't having sex then so I was sure of myself. After like 2months I went to the hospital and the gynae ran some tests and said it had something to do with my hormones (can't remember what he called it) then he prescribed a drug that looks like birth control pills (I won't mention the name so you don't self medicate). I was supposed to take it for 28 days. After the drugs my period came but just for a month then it stopped for 2 months again. I went back to the hospital and he prescribed similar drugs and asked me to continue it for three months. Na so my period take come back o. Today I'm married and a proud mother of one. I advise you to go to a good hospital and see a gynaecologist, not just a general practitioner. Please don't joke with your health.
