Justice Muslim Hassan of the Federal High Court in Lagos has withdrawn from the case of alleged N4.9bn fraud charge pressed against a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The judge ordered the return of the case file to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, for re-assignment to another judge.
He then directed Fani-Kayode and his co-defendants to await further directive from Justice Auta.
Yea,good he left the case, cause he was formally a prosecutor for EFFC,before his elevation, so any judgement that he gives might be biased to femi. Good one ,the judge acted accordingly
He was the prosecutor in efcc who drafted the charge against ffk while he was in the employ of efcc before he was appointed as a judge.he cant be a judge in his own case.thats the reason
