She was embarrassed for saying she graduated with a BSc degree in Law....
The Church says it regrets any inconvenience, hurt or embarrassment the unfortunate scenario caused Ms Anyim Veronica Nnenna....It says it remains committed to her physical welfare as well as her spiritual growth...
During the next Sunday service, the pastor should tender an unreserved apology to her on the same pulpit that she was tagged a liar because of the deficiencies stated in this memo.
ReplyDeleteomg, its good to see your comment @orelaπ₯°
DeleteI agree @orela. This statement is not enough. It's appropriate that Dr Paul Enenche does this apology in person and admit he was wrong...on the pulpit this Sunday.
DeleteThe mental and emotional trauma this lady must have suffered after that embarrassment can be heart rending, especially when it's coming from a man she respects and looks up to...coupled with the fact that it happened in the view of thousands of people.
Thank God she has been vindicated.
Docki πππ
DeleteGo to the web type, Dunnamis miracle of 3 kidney, Dr Paul Eneche was dragged so bad because of a false testimony, after that dragging I observed his mood changed , he will ask ' do you have evidence to back up this testimony '.
Delete1st of ,I fault the junior pastors handling this, they shd vet them b4 they come on stage , for all you know, he may not be in d know of fake testimonies, oppositions cld use this and wreck his Church, being that he supported a certain candidate and has a growing Church.
2nd, please people does that lady sound like a law graduate? OUN should be questioned, honestly.
3rdly Eneche will apologie and make amends with the lady, I can guarantee this with my life. 4th, God may use this disgrace to announce this woman , this may be the beginning of more good things to come
5th. Make we try forgive, he didn't do right.
Hmmmm, they are still talking about her English and standard....... It would be nice though if he just apologizes to her in a packed Sunday service without mentioning English and what not. So sorry ma'am, even though no be me cause am. All you wanted to do was testify.
DeleteAs much as I am a fan of pastor Paul Enenche, I am keeping my fingers crossed till Sunday to make sure he apologizes on the pulpit, and also make amends going forward because this alone, is remaining to the Christian body and the church. Judge not that you be not judged.says the Bible. The church as a whole, can do better
Delete5:25 you dont have sense....why will you not judge someone who says she had a BSc in Law? we all know the dragging on the church idf the testimony had turned out a lie....make una rest
DeleteIt’s good he apologized but if na me, l nor go attend that church again.
ReplyDeleteThis is not an apology he was justifying why he thought she was lying. He should apologise on the same stage she was disgraced and in person.
Deleteshut up. HE HAD EVERY RIGHT TO THINK SHE WAS LYING....A GRADUATE WHO DOES NOT KNOW THE NAME OF THE CLASS OF DEGREE YOU HAD IS QUESTIONABLE...
DeleteIMO, this is an unapologetic apology.
ReplyDeleteIf I were that woman, I wiill never set foot in that church again. And if possible sue the pastor for character assassination.
I wont accept this haughty, smelly, apology.
My thoughts exactly! What's even more annoying is the fact that people are actually supporting the pastor's mean behaviour. Goes to show how dark and evil people's hearts are
DeleteHahaha..dey play
DeleteThank you. I don't care what anyone says, to publicly disgrace that woman for a so called lie was unnecessary. Nobody, including the church with this their apology would understand what she's gone through since then. Personally, I would never go back there.
DeleteShooter, that's what is even very annoying. How people continue to justify the Pastor's actions without sparing a thought for the innocent lady!!
DeleteThere are really lots of evil people in this country.
Nigerian Church has some of the most vile human beings I have come across. Once I see them like this asking “come and join my church come and join” I look away. that’s how I was sharing flat with one babe like that wey dey do olosho work under g, wey dey lie, dey steal, dey backbite. Plus very self centred and rude human being. I do my prayer at home but I can see how any non believer that comes across such “Christians” will never want to attend church.
Delete@Shooter Gyal, its the meanness for me o.
DeleteThere is so much bad attitude and discourtesy around .
People that are perceived as godly should endeavour to be examples of love and good vibes. We should try to infuse fresh air into the atmosphere wherever we find ourselves.
I saw on fb that the lady says she has forgiven her pastor and moved on. I saw a picture of the lady, her pastor and his wife smiling broadly.
The lady seems like someone with low esteem already and would be easy to sway.
Despite all, i believe we all should learn and try to imbibe the culture of kindness and courtesy. Anger does not last but in the few minutes we allow it to have it's way, a lot can be spoiled.
Don't they vet testimonies before allowing you share it?
ReplyDeleteThat university should scrap law... if their law graduates seem confused.
Your are right. Churches should always verify testimonies before the actual presentation.
DeleteAnd the pastor should not have interjected, even if he doubted her.
Misunderstanding and embarrassment in a bid to prevent false testimonies in the church.
Confusion is not restricted to a particular course.
DeleteRubbish
ReplyDeleteMedicine after death
ReplyDeleteIt might have been just nerves playing out for the lady, in all things let’s be kind to one another even when we spot blunders you’ll be surprised sometimes why people do what they do.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly!! Nerves aggravated especially when the senior pastor who may probably never have noticed or spoken to her ever before decided to pick on her!!
DeleteExactly. Even I have learned from this incident. Sometimes it is just better to be silent and observe and not say everything you see.
DeleteThey should compensate her ooo.
ReplyDeleteThis in my opinion isn't a proper apology,he has to apologize in the same place he embarrassed her. What if she no read this write up. Il faut respecter les gens
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly why some ppl will forever be introverts. Imagine wanting to give a testimony and this happens. At least they are responding to the backlash.
ReplyDeleteThis is an apology? Really? Wow.
ReplyDeleteI watched the video, that was embarrassing, like why embarrass her like that?
ReplyDeleteHe was so mean. Even if the women was lying how can a pastor disgrace a congregation like that? A shepherd does not behave this way. If I were him, I will apologize.
ReplyDeleteMtchewwww
ReplyDeleteNeesolah
Hmmmmm, speaking English shouldn't be used as the only yard stick for intelligence.
ReplyDeleteEven me as a HND holder the kind of English I spark atimes baffle me selfπ€£π€£ abi what do you expect from me that attended primary and secondary school where mathematics was called isiro and was taught in real gbangan language even our English teacher use Yoruba to explain English to us, nobody learns English in higher institutions , so far you missed it in your formative years, otilor niyen
You’re an objective person. You made me laugh π
DeleteYou are a very objective person. You made me laugh π
DeleteSo person weh no sabi speak good English no fit do testimony abi bawo
ReplyDeleteI am a very proud member of Dunamis, I can vouch that my pastor would have done the needful and will still do all it takes to see that he makes it up to the woman. He is that humble... As for those of you demanding the same platform for an apology please remember it was a Sunday service and another one is about 6 days away so it's only proper to offer one ahead of that.
ReplyDeleteIt's also worthy of note that the pastor was only trying to defend the integrity of God's works and the intention was not to put the woman down. You have no idea the kind of things they hear and see from the Altar and everything should be done to correct that while engaging all sagacity in the way of God.
LEAVE THEM HEAR TO MAKE NOISE. ALOT OF THEM HERE ARE NOT BELIEVERS SO REJOICE AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO INSULT CHURCHES AND PASTORS
DeleteWhat's this? More like trying to exonerate the pastor. Apologize if you want to.
ReplyDeletePastor has to apologise before service starts on Sunday and also via social media. Pompous owl
ReplyDeleteIt's well
ReplyDeleteThis is not nice, coming from God's people. How can you apologize like this biko? I see no remorse or sincerity here.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it’s the pastor that is the illiterate
ReplyDeleteIs this an apology
Nonsense
I’m so pissed
Sue him
I was born and raised in london. I speak very good English. I did a law degree in a university in London and I went to law school in London. I also now work as a lawyer in London. I also unfortunately did not know my degree was an LLB until i went to a job interview with a small high street firm when I wanted a part-time job inbetween studies and i was asked about my "LLB" and i was confused - cause i didnt understand the interviewer's question.
ReplyDeleteIt was only after the interview that I looked up LLB and learned for the first time my degree in law was an LLB. I had never paid any attention to that before.
There are other lawyers like me and this woman who did not know it was called LLB.
The pastor judged her by her appearance and publicly humiliated her and it was wrong.
It is not his secretary that should be publicly apologising, he should publicly apologise.
Na wa see as you dey like who go school for nigeria
DeleteYOU MUST HAVE BEEN A DULL STUDENT...YOU WENT THROUGH A DEGREE PROGRAM NOT KNOWING THE CLASS OF DEGREE YOU WERE GOING TO BE AWARDED? JEEEZ
DeleteCrying more than the bereaved ,who determines whether it is accepted or not ?or whether it is an apology or not ,anyway online mob are a reality in the world today and Nigerians headless mob of internet bandits are real
ReplyDeleteHypocritical, wicked godless clowns that cannot even pretend to be sorry, dehumanising someone in public then constructing poor grammar to tender a tepid apology. Scammer too day set standards π.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing close to the truth here is that all happened in the spur of the moment because there is no evidence of divine leaning in that shopping mall, na basic drama.
Hmmm
ReplyDeleteOmoh this height of embarrassment ehnnn.... It is well
It is well
ReplyDeleteThat height of embarrassment was something else...
ReplyDeleteI hope she gets over it.
LLb is not the principle of law u are taught in school. Your pastor who hired u to be here for defence is elitist, academical and pontifical rather than spiritual and ecclesiastical who said at your detriment instead of to your detriment.
