Abeg make some people dey fear God small. That I am not commenting now does not mean I ran away ( very appaling) .
I went to Wuse to get a second phone, some of the phones I saw were not in good condition.
Someone linked me to another person who promised to bring a clean one but may take a little time.
I will start commenting with the old phone which I have repaired the screen for the fourth time. Soon as the phone guy calls me to come pick a clean one for the amount we agreed , I will send the evidence of the purchase to Stella .

ReplyDeleteYou know the story too well. David was sent to see how his brothers fared at the battlefront. He arrived just in time to hear Goliath brag loudly. When David requested to know what will happen if he responded to the challenge his eldest brother Eliab shut him up rudely.
They have always done that to David. How do I know? Because when David met King Saul in verse 35 he told him that he had killed a bear and a lion before at different times. What?! How big was Bethlehem their home town? Was it so big that a boy of 17 could kill a lion and no one in the entire village heard? Then he killed a bear and the whole community did not celebrate him?
Do you know why?
When he came home that evening with the blood stains and told his family that he killed a lion they asked him to “shut up! Liar!” They did not believe him. And when your family does not believe you, or believe in you, no one else will. David’s great accomplishments were ridiculed and shut up by his own family! Why should anyone ever give him a chance?
Have you tried singing in church or a social gathering where your family was present and then they warned you never to disgrace the family again? Have you ever taken part in a competition in school or elsewhere and your family booed you because someone else was better or could have done better? Or perhaps you are the person that shuts up the achievement of other family members? It is a very painful experience. Sometimes the only family you have is the church and the department where you serve in. Yet for some people this “church family” will never celebrate them, nor give them a chance.
If your family does not celebrate your achievements, be sure that you are bold enough to celebrate yourself. David developed the courage to look Eliab in the face and said, “please don’t shush me, I was only asking a question.” David was this close to national prominence, the last hurdle he had to cross was the “shush” of his own brother.
Until you stand up for you and your dreams, no one else will do. You have to develop the spine to stand up for yourself in the face of opposition, rejection, loss, trauma, ridicule and whatever life, family and society throws at you.
Don’t let anything or anyone shush the greatness in you. Never again!
