They usually make this very weird sound like "heavy breathing". I can't really explain it. Truly, they are highly territorial. We have two in our neighborhood. Once they sight one from afar and the person exhibits an iota of fear, they stick out their necks like snakes and chase you aggressively. Very troublesome birdsπ

Anon23:04. Their beaks are sharp, so I'll guess that it can do some damages ones it gets in contact with someone's skin. The way the cut through grasses and feed on them is mind boggling. So yeah
