It was not the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that left these people but a particular anointing or empowering of the spirit that departed.David and Saul were kings and had a special anointing from God to rule the people. Samson also had a special anointing from God to lead Israel.What left Samson and Saul,what David prayed to retain was not the indwelling of the Holy Spirit but rather the Holy Spirit's anointing to rule.
In the same way, the Holy spirit always indwells a believer but can anoint that new testament believer for a specific and temporary purpose.
This signifies that the person is being moved or anointed by the spirit for a specific task.if you have ever had this happen to you,then you KNOW it's not a small prompting, it involves a very close personal interaction, usually audible, sometimes even involving a personal appearance by God.
Having the hand of the lord specifically directing you is something that STILL happens today. Even in our busy schedules and activities, God still speaks.
When God begins this kind of work,He sees it through to completion.
God have NEVER moved someone in this manner who failed to accomplish the task set before them.

DeleteIt's my son's death anniversary, I don't know why it's hitting me hard this year.
ReplyDeleteToday made it 4years.
He was very hairy, I didn't get to hold him or look at him,but I felt the hairs when he come out of me.
Yesterday was my nephew's birthday, anytime I see him, I am reminded of how they could have been playmate cos it was same year that he was born.
Imagine congratulating my sister on the 10th that year and she sending me condolences on the 11th.
My mum had her hands full that year
For once,I am imagining how my family felt that year, joyful and sorrowful..
This was painful to read . I'm sorry for all that you've encountered in your life's journey .
